Works great with non-dairy plant-based milks
Why did you pick this product vs others?:We don't drink dairy so I was looking for a frother which can be used with plant-based milks. After ordering this one, I was becoming a bit pessimistic when I saw the recommendation for plant-based milks to use barista plant-based milks. I didn't want to have to purchase specialized (expensive) plant-based milks just to use this product. I was considering returning it prior to trying it out, but one comment was encouraging, so I decided to try it. I used Kroger-brand (Simple Truth) soy milk. In fact, I went ahead and also bought Simple Truth almond milk because I thought it wouldn't work well with soy milk... but WOW! It was able to froth the soy milk up. I used the button twice just to make it super frothy but it didn't disappoint at all. The only complaint I had is somehow the button for menu selection is not aligned to the display so I kept pressing the button but nothing would happen. By chance, I touched to the right of it, then it would change the selection... So now, I just touch right of the display for menu selection and it works fine.

Good unit for 1ot2 cups
It does the job. Since this is their small model it does enough for one to two cups only. I have only used it with whole milk, expect half and half to be better. Works better than the blender, which is what I wanted.

Plant based milk users
I had red mixed reviews on using plant-based milks with this product. I was pleasantly surprised how rich and creamy the froth was for the almond milk that I use, Califa Farms, unsweetened vanilla almond milk. The only way that I can drink almond milk with my hot coffee as if it's steamed. I wanted to quit using creamers and half-and-half and things to this product I can!

Buttons
The buttons? Maybe it was just mine, but they were not responding until I pressed super hard? Otherwise, made great foam!

Super little unit - much easier to use and clean than the frother attached to my coffee maker!
I'd heard about this company from a Kickstarter campaign, but since I've been burned before, I didn't follow the link to see what the offering was. Curiously, this popped into my Amazon feed, and since it was already a product (and not a project), I went ahead and picked one up. While I was waiting for it, I revisited the Kickstarter (BaristaMaker) and was a bit disappointed that I hadn't picked it up. Now having used this model for a few weeks, I'm not regretting it. While the BaristaMaker version is more elegant looking (stainless vs white plastic) and has a removable pitcher with a pour spout, this unit ended up working just as well as what I saw in the Kickstarter video. You might get a little more accuracy from the pour spout on the BaristaMaker if you're looking for foam art, but I'm just looking for simple foam, and this delivers. While my Ninja coffee maker came with a frother, to be honest I've never used it since the first night I set it up...you have to manually heat the liuquid in a cup and then move it up and down for the frother to do its thing. The DREO is self-contained with its own heat source (keeping you from overdoing it in the microwave or on the stove) and has a menu of selections for both cold and hot, dairy and non-dairy, as well as two frothers depending on if you want thick or "micro" froth (for detail art).I've been using 2% milk and get an acceptable foam. The company points out that fat and protein determine the quality of foam, so I was a bit worried that the lower fat might impact the output, but I'm fine with what it delivers. I drink decaf in the evenings with dessert and being able to convert it into a cappuccino without all the work is a prett neat treat.Cleanup was one of the really annoying parts of the Ninja unit, as you had to use warm water in a new cup to clean the spindle. Not so with this unit, as you wash and rinse!

possible tephlon jug coating
upon receiving, i went to the pamphlet where it lists the food grade material list and the inner jug coating is blank, while the other parts of the frother are listed, this is very shady to me, it looks like tephlon but on google when i searched it said ceramic jug coating which it does not look like at all. It is made in China also, not to be trusted.

Scant foam after 2 months
Everything started out fine, but I only had it for 2 months when it started to produce less foam, and the foam itself was not coming out of the device when I poured. I had to scoop it out with a small spatula. I’ve tried it in a variety of ways, changed the milk, changed the settings, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. I’m planning on returning it, and I’m in the process of doing a search for another one that lasts!! Very disappointed.
