Jonathan Green (10316) Black Beauty Original Grass Seed Blend - Cool Season Lawn Seed (50 lb)

The media could not be loaded. I have seated 3 acres of grass with this seed. There is no other seed that I would ever rather have. It will throw roots up to 14 feet in the ground. I have never watered any of this grass other than initially the first year to establish Seed Planting. All I do is fertilize and weed and feed this grass stays green all year I don’t have to do much weeding as this grass chokes out about everything if you cut it 4 inches tall I wish I could’ve found this grass seed for my last other three houses. I don’t know how many planted pounds of tall fescue. I have used in the past. None of it even came close to comparing to this. I actually found this through a gentleman who has been running a sod farm for 43 years. He supply sod to mainly golf courses. I’m telling you forget about the rest and buy this all the Seed comes from up north east anyway this is just bread with another type of grass for my understanding talking to him. That is extremely drought tolerant. The state that I live in even recommends it to avoid watering that is just fine by me the first year I spent thousands of dollars in water. You’ve gotta get this stuff.

This brand is already very well known, but the bullet to buy it and it actually worked better than expected! The grass came in thick and fine blades, and in early spring so I’m sold.

Not sure what I did wrong. Followed planting instructions, waited until late October in TX for cooler weather. Grass initially took hold in late November, appeared to be doing well, then died. Tried another bag, overseeded areas again, and looking at dirt.

I have placed sod on my back yard no less than 5 times with Zoysia. Some areas just dont get enough sun. Filled in with Black Beauty. Best yard has ever looked. Live in south and becomes very frail and thin in our hot summers but still best option ive found.

Moved to Southern New Mexico and my back yard was not landscaped, it was that reddish pink desert dirt. I tilled it down to about 2-3" and laid some starter fertilizer, spread the seed and raked it in. Lots of water required here to get it to germinate in this part of the country. Took 7 days and it's coming in really nice. I didn't put any topsoil down and it's still grew. So far, so good!

I live in virginia I got this grass to grow at my place just before winter,this is after reseeding every year for 4 years, it is awesome. Just remember it's virginia horrible soil,clay,rock

Put down in October 2020. Fast forward to now, my lawn looks terrible. 2021/2022 weeds started to appear. We take care of our lawn with fertilizer and weed killers. This year it is full of clover, other weeds and a weed that we don’t recognize that has taken over huge areas. We believe these weeds were mixed in with grass seed. Not sure how we can fix this other than tearing up a quarter acre of grass. Definitely do not recommend this product
