Feels well made, holds Anker Powercore 20K. Fits on camera and Smallrig cage shoe mounts
Why did you choose this product over others?:I have a Smallrig S1RII cage I use with my new Panasonic Lumix S1 IIE. I use an SSD to record video to and it uses cameras USB-C port to output to. As I am doing that, I needed a good way of powering the camera. I got a Panasonic BLK-22 dummy battery with USB-C and an Anker PowerCore 20K 20000mAh power bank.I also needed to find something to hold the battery and the battery fits well with it as the two sides extend to accommodate batteries of different sizes. This feels well made and it fits onto the shoe mount of the cage and the shoe mount of the camera. I checked how secure it is when tightened. While it didn't come out when fully tightened to the shoe mount and didn't feel like it would, mine did more from side to side slightly, but only when I was wiggling to check how secure it was. S far it has stayed tightened to the cage and hasn't moved on the 2 days I have used it with the battery attached (see my attached image)

Does the job of holding a power bank perfectly
I have a Vixen Polar Star Tracker that runs on AA batteries (but goes through them quickly) or via a Micro USB external power supply. The problem I had was finding a place to put the power bank as the power supply. This SMALLRIG Power Bank Holder is the perfect solution. It is compact and relatively light in weight, which is important as the Vixen Polar can only hold a maximum of 1.5kg (including a camera, lens, and ball head mount). At 53g, this SMALLRIG holder wasn't going to be an issue. I have tested this with 3 different shaped and sized power banks, and all were held securely, making this SMALLRIG holder very versatile. When I placed the item for order it was £17.99 plus a 15% digital voucher discount. It is slightly bordering on the expensive side, but I have no doubt this will last a long time, as I have had other SMALLRIG camera accessories that are equally made to a high standard in terms of design and manufacturing levels.

Solid option for mounting external powerbanks to cameras
Smallrig produce great products and this is no exception. What you have here is a rock solid powerbank holder for cameras or rigs with cold shoe mountsIt offers a really simple solution to be able to power cameras and lights for longer simply by popping this onto your camera rig and then slotting in the powerbank of your choiceThe holder itself is stronger than you will ever need it to be. It's not going to break on you, and it grips nice and tight so that your powerbank won't slip or drop out of it at all.You can mount it directly to the top of your camera if you're not using a flash or cold shoe microphone, or you can pop it onto any cage that has a cold shoe mount on it.As always Smallrig has delivered a product that is useful, strong and will last you for life. This is a solid product and one you should check out if you're in the market for something to grip your powerbank!

Good holder for lightweight set ups, a bit pricey
If you need a lightweight set up for your camera, this holder will do a good job.Its maximum stretch allows it to hold many different power banks. It won't be secure enough to hold a mini V-mount battery, but you'd use a V-mount with that one anyway…It's made of good quality plastic, silicone and alloy. It stretches on a spring mechanism, similar to many phone holders out there. The difference is that the clamp arms are longer and a bit curved to hold the power bank more securely. While I don't think it would be secure enough for some very dynamic shooting, it will do fine with static one or where you just move around frequently. The attachment is quite universal too - you have a cold shoe mount with a ring to secure, but you can unscrew it using an allen wrench and you get a standard ¼” - screw.Overall it's another useful thing to have in my growing arsenal of different photographic adapters. I can already build some pretty customized set ups, so I'm happy with this addition. £18 feels like a bit much for just a battery mount, but it's done to the usual high Smallrig standard. Happy to recommend.Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Lightweight alternative to heavier battery solutions
Using the SMALLRIG’s powerbank holder either cold Shoe attached or by screwing it into your rig is an affordable way to of adding power to your camera; if it supports usb-c power or you have a usb battery adaptor. I mounted it using the include screw to my camera rig on the side to be close to the battery door to start; and found it imbalanced things too much; it is better to have it somewhere central. The adaptor is small; but spring loaded and capable of taking my medium sized powerbank. It happily holds my somewhat compact 10,000 mAh phone charging power adaptor measuring 19*68*113mm. This width of 68mm is in the middle of its 55-86mm capability. It can hold a mini v mount battery on its side, but the shape of the arms means you will risk it falling as the curved sides of the holder will only grip the top. It’s designed to taking power banks up to about 25mm thick; the shape of those sides also suggests you should use powerbank with curved edges. The 10,000 mAh powerbank has almost 4x the capacity of my camera’s batteries. If you don’t want or need a big camera rig and have a couple of powerbanks then this is a good alternative to using heavier vmount batteries for long shoots.
