Quality for soldering plate essential to make it induction compatible has come off in 8 months
In conclusion - Do not buy Aluminum cooker if your priority is to use on Induction cooktop, not use on gas stove.Strictly choose amongst :Option1 - Pure steel pressure cookerOption 2 - Cast Iron induction compatible cookerOption 3 - the one that has 3 plyDO NOT prefer the one that has an extra bottom full plate or plate with hole as both these plates are simply joint welded soldered and can come off in few months.as a result the only feasible option to reuse the cooker is on gas stove that too with hazard.here is my experience - We use this for our nuclear family and using 3 different size cookers that suit to use.Aluminum in itself is not induction compatible. There is an alloy or steel plate at the bottom of cooker that has holes and is soldered/joined to cooker, this thin plate acts as transferor to make it induction compatible. In 8 months of mild usage the plate has come off from quarter of circumference, this has exposed actual induction cooktop as well badly affecting cooktop.1. this is design flaw and can be observed in other Prestige models as well over longer period of time2nd the soldering could have been a little more better that could last for a few years at least.Customer care Service- you have to take the cooker in person to one of service center and there are not many service centers actually. One in Bangalore is in JP Nagar.they dont give you a replacement, as confirmed on phone, they take cooker, send it to repair and re join/solder the same plate ( may not even replace the plate although it has bulges and has become uneven) . and there is no guarantee or assurance for how long again it will work.one has to visit again to pick up the repaired cooker. This problem is common with almost all other brands too, as many of our apartment society have faced it, as confirmed by few personally known and some that our house maid told us about as she washes/cleans utensil in many flats.
