What to Expect the First Year: (Updated in 2024)

More of an encyclopedia of tips and tricks as your baby grows older. Not all babies follows everything that happens in the book. But it’s a great reference to go back to as your child gets older.

This book is a classic and a must give for any new mom. It is a great book to give to any new mom and it is constantly updated which is nice.

This book has been my lifesaver this first year of my little one’s life! It describes EXACTLY what he goes through and helps me with ways to be the best mom for him. As a first time mom, When I have questions about if something is normal or not, you best believe this book has it laid out right there in plain sight!! I ended up giving this a gift to all of the first time moms giving birth this past year so they could have this guidance like I did!

I am not even 10 pages in and this already has my attention. I am not a reader, but I guess with being interested in this topic it helps! Very informative & lots of topics.

I bought these books when my daughter was born 3 decades ago. It was a LIVES saver, especially pre-internet searches.Now grandchildren are here and on the way...HURRAY!But my kids find the now available versions of these too outdated... a lot has change in , science, esp. medicine and relationship handling in the past decade.At 2 in the morning these books saved my sanity and children's lives.Someone is missing a ton of $$$$$$money by not making these books more current.I found the non-updating of the toddler one was soundly rejected by the new parents even though they found the others helpful.Please help writers and publishers.Thank you!!!!

I had read "What to Expect the First Year" and I must say that it is an exceptional resource for new parents. As a first-time parent myself, I was overwhelmed with the myriad of questions and concerns that came with the arrival of my little one. This book has been an invaluable companion throughout the first year of my child's life, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.First and foremost, the book is incredibly comprehensive. It covers every topic imaginable, from newborn care and feeding to sleep schedules, developmental milestones, and even dealing with common health issues. The authors leave no stone unturned, providing detailed and practical advice on virtually every aspect of baby care. No matter what challenges I encountered, I found relevant and reliable information within its pages.

As new parents, there are a lot of doubts, questions and unknown information. I was using the what to expect app during pregnancy and postpartum. It has small daily prompts and read on blogs regarding the babies' growth. But this book has lot more information than what is there in the app. The chapters are divided based on age and it is so helpful to understand the baby's behavior. Truly recommend to new parents!
