Disney and Square Enix mix again, with a brilliant effect
Without a doubt, this is one of the best RPG's I've ever played. Like the first game you take on the role of Sora and his friends Donald Duck and Goofy. Yeah it sounds lame, but there is a lot of serious stuff in the storyline and gameplay. There was a boss battle half way through which almost gave me mental breakdown because it was so friggin hard. Gameplay wise, all the battles take place in real time and it plays a bit like an action game. Don't worry though, the classic RPG traditions of HP,MP and leveling up are still there. Kingdom Hearts II takes place after the Game Boy Advance game Chain of Memories instead of the first game. Sora and co are fighting against the Heartless from last time as well as new enemies called Nobodies, who are controlled by an evil group of villians called Organization XIII. There's a lot of stuff to do in this game, such as the fighting touraments in the Underworld or the totally nails secret boss battle. Like last time, characters from Square's Final Fantasy series make cameos throughout. My favourites include Cloud from FFVII and Auron from FFX. The graphics are smooth and stylish and retain the Disney feel. You visit various places throughout your journey including the worlds of Mulan, Alladin, Pirates of the Carribean and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I didn't play the first one but I still managed to get a grip on the story line and spent hours and hours searching for everything. I completed this game twice and I'm still wanting to beat it on harder difficulty settings. It's that good. A Square Enix masterpiece and an unmissable adventure.
