I bought this bench to put in front of a window so my dog can sit/lay on it and look outside. Prior to buying the bench I was using some milk crates covered in a blanket. That worked fine, but it was not quite tall enough at about 12 inches for her to lay down and look out plus over time it started to scratch the hardwood flooring due to the crates shifting around. This bench solved all those issues plus it looks nice and has some storage too which is a nice bonus.Unlike other reviewers I did not find it particular easy to assemble, but it was not terribly difficult either. The instructions are just pictorial but get the job done. The hardest part was stretching the fabric over the frame to complete the assembly. Some of the Velcro tabs that hold it down to the frame did not line up very well and one tore off during the assembly too. Too be fair though once it's assembled the Velcro does not really do all that much anyway.One thing I was concerned about was the strength of the top and frame. For reasons I won't go into here, I need to stand on the bench often so I needed one that could support my 180 lbs weight. I posted a question and received mostly affirmative responses so I took the chance - mainly due to the steel frame. It appears to be sufficiently strong enough to handle my weight with no problem so that's a huge plus for me.In the end it looks nice, the fabric is thick and plenty strong, it can handle weight, it's not overly hard to assemble, can be used for storage and comes at a decent price. If I could I would rate it 4-1/2 stars due to the assembly issues I mentioned, but given the price and the final product, I would lean more toward five stars. I have no problem recommending this bench to others if the things noted in my review seem to fit your needs as well.

This really is a great storage box. I got it so that I could put toys in it for when the grandkids visit. It's beautiful and sturdy. It was extremely easy to put together and the instructions were very written well. The cushion on the top is a very thick and strong material. The kids can jump around on it and I am not worried about it breaking; guests can easily sit on it. Aesthetically, it's very pleasing and matches the decor of my room. Very good purchase

Ease of construction: 5/5.It was fairly intuitive, even without looking at the instructions, but I still would glance at them initially as I did. The combo pack was put together within an hour, even with children at play during the unboxing and construction.The durability: ?/5The jury is out on this one. The bench so far is easily handling around 55lbs of children at play. An adult around 300+ has sat on it and it seems steady, but I definitely question the 600lb threshold advertised. There is no connective hinge keeping the lid attached, which does mean no sliced fingers, but still the potential for smashed fingers in child households.The footrest doesn't use metal framing like the bench does, it's collapsible. I really doubt how much it can hold on its own. I wouldn't put more than necessary upon it.Pricepoint: 4/5I think we spent under $130.00 for the combo, both shipped separately, and I mean, they are pretty decent for what we paid. I do not feel too disappointed.Complaints: 2/5I really wish that the footrest could have had a metal framing just in case, for additional seating options. Also, the sticky adhesive for the anti-scuff rubber for the feet is not very good. I'd advise picking up some of your own adhesive and letting it set before attaching the legs. The welding for the metal looks decent, but I've been wrong before with unrelated products.The final verdict: 3/5The SONGMICS storage ottoman bench and footrest are a decent additional to any household for light to medium use, but if you want something more durable for heavy use... this product may not be what you are looking for.
