HENCKELS Forged Accent 16-pc Self-Sharpening Knife Block Set, Walnut

Best set of knives I’ve owned. They are very sharp and have a good weight to them, like the knives used by ‘5 star’ steak houses. Solid wood block with self-sharpening slots for all the non-serrated knives.

We really love the quality of these knives. With our first order the block was cracked so we returned it. Second one perfect. Even my husband, who rarely cooks, was impressed with the sturdy feel and sharpness of these knives. We got them to clear a drawer of all the loose knives and the block doesn't take up much room and is attractive.

We’ve had these knives for about three months now. Highly recommended! They are so much sturdier and sleek than our previous set. They are a pleasure to use and are clearly with the price! The only slight downside is that the “self-sharpening” feature doesn’t really “sharpen” but rather lightly hones the edge of the knife. I’d suggest also purchasing a good quality sharpening tool to keep these knives in top shape!

These knives are great but I feel like it's kind of a bulky look on my counter tops.

This an amazing set for the price!The knives arrived well-packaged in the factory box. Each knife was covered in plastic, and the blades were covered with cardboard. The block looks great and is very solid and hefty. I like the color and finish of the wood and the contrasting metallic plate covering the knife slots. The block's angle is shallow, so it takes up more depth on a counter, but it feels ergonomic when pulling or replacing the knives.These knives are like big razors, and cutting through vegetables and meat takes very little force or effort. I now confidently cut incredibly thin slices of tomatoes without the tomato being smashed and spilled out on my cutting board, like with my old knife set.The built-in sharpeners for most of the blades is a great feature! I've ruined more knives from using bad sharpeners or bad sharpening techniques than I'd like to admit; having it built in and set to the angle of the blade means these knives will have a long life.My only minor complaint is that the Santoku blade is 5 inches and feels much shorter than I'm used to, though it (like the other knives in the set) slices through everything like butter. It feels tiny in my hand compared to similar but longer versions of that blade I've used.Beyond all that, I get a good laugh every time I pull the chef's knife out because it makes that `sching` sound you hear in movies. I'm pretty sure I've chuckled every time I use that knife.Overall, and for the price, this is a great set to give as a gift or as an upgrade if you're using a cheaper or older dull set of knives.
