Excellent
Excellent shaver. The only one I've ever had that shaves as close as a blade.

Shaver
Ordered as previous Phillips had given up the ghost. This new one so far has given me a wonderful shaver. Charging now done with usb, the cleaning is done using, the shaver and not having too plug the cleaning unit in the 2 pin as previous. Built in sideburns built in another bonusVery happy with my purchase.

Impressively good Rotary, Slight packaging niggles.
I've used rotary shaves for a long while, due to face/moustache shape they're the only ones that work well for me. I've had a few, my last was an older 5000 series. Popping on and over the head and the trimmer had lead to the joint coming week, the heads were on the way out and it was Amazon deals, so i hunted for a replacement and chose S7886/55Firstly the Philips model range is designed to cause confusion. There's the unit number S7886 which you can find reviews for, tends to be market and power related. Then there's the slash number /55 which is down to accessories, there's a table in the manual, but it means X store can advertise a unique price, making comparisons tricky! This comes with the basics, charge stand, plus a washing station and one podIt's the later USB version, 5V....Finally you think but it has a Philips special connector not say a common USB C - The Philips site doesn't even have a spare, pointing at the MAYBE fits oneblade cable, but i'm NOT sure that's correct. A SECOND cable for travel would be very useful, or you know, the EU standard USB-C and don't include any, like they don't have a power block!Anyway, post charging and i gave it a go. I was initially disappointed as the speed was slower than my old 5000 series and only single blade. HOWEVER it actually shaved quicker and closer, by a long shot, not just new head territory of good, but I'm VERY impressed here. This is a dry, I only ever shave dry with an electric. It's not quite wet shave good, but way closer than I've had before and that's also 49yr old red head with wiry day old stubble. No left over neck hairs & good smooth dimpled chin, tricky places for my old 5000.Battery definitely over a week of single daily uses, I'd guess a good 10 x 2min, though is only a couple of weeks old atm. Will prob fade, but I rarely had an issue there with couple of year old 5000 series, plus you can take and loose the USB cable! The cleaning pod is probably a gimmick, an older powered version was, but a nice to have. I tap out daily and will go with the faff of cleaning weekly. Remove a bit of the liquid on first few uses and put back after. They're always too full and foam up in use.No idea why there's a silly black pot cover base though. They should have had the cleaner bit fix to the pot. Getting the pot in and out of the tray is awkward and you really need to put the top back on as the unit isn't sealed and you'll get evaporation.Post cleaning, popped it open on the charging stand and I'm sure it'll be fine for tomorrow.I've bought a set of the expensive prestige SH98 heads, they fit like the 7000 series and the more common SH91 9000 series heads. Not sure if they'll be THAT much of an upgrade, bit it's nice to be able to try themFor the ~£125 I paid for this model, I'm pretty happy. Star lost for the silly proprietary cable and cleaner tub silliness, both minor niggles
