Top Trumps are always a great stocking filler and always well received. Simple game that can be leant in 5 minutes and played time after time!

A perfect little fun gift for someone who loves all things Shakespeare

I had this same set as a kid nearly 40 years ago (that is horrifying in itself!) and happened upon these on Amazon. The cards themselves are just as I remember them and very good value for money - especially in relative terms when I think what they cost in the 80s. They will withstand many, many games I am sure. They are worth it just for the hefty dose of nostalgia alone!The age range is given as 6+ and the premise of the game is quite simple, so I would say anyone can play provided they are able to read and count. Although it is a horror themed pack, it is very much based on the old Hammer horror films and very tame compared with today’s media content. That being said, some of the illustrations are a little bit gruesome and some kids are more sensitive than others, so I would advise exercising your own discretion as to whether or not you think they are suitable if giving them to children. I have attached a photo of a sample of cards which hopefully gives a better idea of the contents.I used to play these with my younger brother and, now that we are all grown up, I can’t wait until Covid restrictions end so that we can have a rematch and I can once again trounce him in a Top Trumps tournament, lol. Champion!

Just like a lot of people i had these the Horror pack 2 and Fantasy Top Trumps back when i was a kid.So when I saw they were being reissued I just had to get them so I could play the game with my 10yr old son.And like everyone else i was disappointed at the resizing and poor quality of the image and the unforgivable decision to remove 2 cards from each set, especially Demon and Death which were my personal favourites.So being stubborn and very annoyed I made my own.I googled the cards got the images and printed on photo paper and they have come out pretty good even managed to print out the backs.The only problem I did have was not being able to find better quality images of Demon and Ogre but thats life I guess.I wrote some sizing info on one of the pictures if you want to give it a go yourselves and complete your sets.

Original version on the left with reprint on the right. Both have the same red and white dragon image on the rear, in a similar pose to the dragon card.The picture quality looks good, but are not as good as the original. I noticed that they must have been scanned, instead of using the original images, because there is an obvious crease printed on the Elf card.This makes the change/error on the peasants fear factor unexpected. It doesn't change the game play much, because previously it could only beat the fool and sprite using fear factor.You should also notice that two key cards are missing, the ogre is good but the demon was always a game changer. It was always difficult to win if you were not dealt the demon.The card quality is perfect and is actually higher quality than the original version. The original was shiny on one side, but the back was just card.I hope that these last at least as long as the original, should do given the finish.

I remember these top trumps from when I was a youngster,hours of fun had,either playing top trumps or doing the movey uppy,shame there’s two cards missing but still a decent pack,good value too
