Garmin GPS unit backpack holder
I was very interested in the look of this device when I first found it on Amazon and having just purchased a new Garmin Etrex 30 device I thought this would be a good item to have my GPS unit readily to hand but securely tethered so as not to lose it.With the new mounting point on the new range of Garmin GPS units I was surprised by only finding a handful of items that are available to use but having used this on a number of my walks I'm finding that this device works like a charm. The unit consists of 2 parts that are connected by a length of cord (which is adjustable). The first part is attached to your backpack shoulder strap by a couple of Velcro straps. This may take a couple of attempts to get it in the correct place so you can reach the GPS when taking it on/off your backpack to use.The second part attaches to the GPS unit via the slide on mounting point on the battery cover. The 2 parts have Velcro to attach to each other. How long the Velcro will last will only be found out over time. The cord is adjustable to a degree so when you take the GPS unit off the backpack to use it is safety attached in case you drop it. I have had instances where I had the GPS in hand when I needed 2 hands for something else and I just let the GPS unit dangle on the tether cord before taking it back in hand.Overall I found this device to be very useful and well worth purchasing.

Useful attachment
I have two of these for my Garmin 66i.It straps onto the shoulder of my rucksack and makes it easy to carry and retrieve to check location. Be careful to make sure that you fit the Garmin to the back plate of the holster to hear a click and test it to make sure it’s secure. I didn’t and the Garmin fell off fortunately not damaged. I think it’s probably the best way to carry the device when out walking and it’s not too expensive. Also the Velcro seems to wear or the attached cord tangles on it so it can impeded you when trying to stick the Garmin back on the holster when out walking. Minor gripe only hence 4 stars

Convenient carrier for GPS
Good ,sturdy plastic but poor quality cord that gets caught in the Velcro and ends up as a frayed woolly mess ! Had to replace after a few days. Also the adhesive used doesn’t really stand up to temperatures over mid twenties centigrade and I found that , rather than the Velcro separating where it’s supposed to , the adhesive separated leaving the Velcro pad stuck to the unit ! Will have to re glue- perhaps with epoxy!

It's ok at what it doews, little overpriced for what it is. - but if you need it, you need it!!
Nice basic bit of kit, feels a little overpriced for what it is. Used it for the first time the weekend. Found it slipping a lot, I have thin shoulder straps. May have to doctor it a little. But would like to be able to swap between backpacks with ease. Was getting annoyed with the tether, easy got twisted and stuck to the Velcro. Might look at replacing it for something else in the near future. Bought it as it was required.

Dreadful and overpriced !!!
Dreadful bit of kit. Its BADLY thought out for backpacks. Mine arrived with the tether cord frayed and practically useless but even without that its badly designed. The velcro straps that go round the backpack harness have no ability to grip to the backpack harness at all so it tends to slide down the harness straps as the backpack straps are naturally thick at the top (where you want the device) and thinner towards the belt of most serious backpacks (which is where you don't want the GPS box but where it naturally gravitates to). Secondly the velcro straps going between the backpack straps and your body are going to create a chafe point once the going gets hot and you are out of a fleece. Finally the velcro holder between the bit that connects to the GPS and the bit that connects to your harness is VERY strong. I grant thats a good thing as you don't want the GPS to come loose but its so strong you end up pulling the velcro straps on the backpack part of the thing loose. Its very fiddly to peel it away from its holder without causing the velcro harness straps to pull loose. Finally this item is very overpriced for a bit of plastic and some velcro. I understand manufacturers want to make a few shekels on their accessories and I don't expect Garmin (or anyone else for that matter) to work as a charity for walkers, hikers, bikers and other outdoor types but I would happily pay double for a well designed backpack holder for my GPS.My experience has always been velcro is not ideal for the great outdoors as it too easily gets clogged up with bits of bush, mud, sand etc.In the end I bought a belt clip instead of this and just clip that to my packs accessory straps on the harness and made up my own tether from paracord. Sorry Garmin but I have no idea why you make a premium GPS unit and then saddle it with this badly thought out thing.

Firmly Fixed.
Arrived quickly, being the genuine article arrived in the standard Garmin box and there fore a little pricey for what it is but then I haven't come across anything else to do the same job from anywhere else at a lower price.Strangely though always seems smaller than you think, other wise well made and looks neat and tidy, not actually tried it in anger as yet but fits both the back pack straps I intend on using it on, the widest one being 70mm which is padded as well.Velcro fixing straps and a little push button adjusting cord for the tether.

Great to stop the dangle!
This works exactly as expected. My inreach used to dangle around all the time and this has put an end to it!super easy to attach to the pack strap and easy to remove if you need to hold the inreach at any point. Only downside is that stuff sticks to the velcro every so often... can't win em all!

Jetzt immer in Griffnähe

Strong and easily used.
Good product. Seems well built. Some have complained about the cord but it’s easily replaced if it bugs you.

Qualità Garmin
Supporto dai molteplici utilizzi! Consigliato!
