Fun challenge
Great toy with multiple levels for engagement. The small outside flaps are a little harder for my dogs large mouth to access. But would be fine for small to medium dogs.

I wish it were more challenging
We've yet to find a puzzle feeder that our dog doesn't conquer in <5 minutes, including this one. Not only did she immediately understand she needed to hit the hopper, she figured out she could stick her tongue down the opening of the flaps and get some of the kibble out without even having to open the flaps. Then she opens the flap once she's gotten as much of the food out that way as she can.Aside from needing a level 5 puzzle for this smartie, it's a pretty solid toy. It doesn't stick to the floor with the suction cup, but she hasn't managed to flip it entirely yet. She HAS managed to use her paws to open the top though, which is hilarious. Luckily it takes her enough attempts that by the time she does that, the food is all dispensed, but I wouldn't put it past her to just walk over to it one day, pop the top off, and chow down on the elevated bowl.

Great food puzzle!
We have a two-year-old chocolate lab. He has another food puzzle with covered compartments so he had an easy time figuring out the Level 1 puzzle of opening the compartments. The Level 2 of pushing the center button to dispense more food was a bit of a challenge. At first, he treated that button like it was demon possessed and would steal his soul if he got too close. If we said "Button" or "Foot" he would run away and then bark at us. After a day or two he was willing to put his foot in one hand while the other hand pushed the button, but still wouldn't go near the actual button pushing. Then he would put his foot in the hand that pushed the button. Then we could use his foot to push the button. Today is 8 day and he's doing it all by himself! The dispenser holds about 1 1/2 cups of food and the clear cover locks on so it never pops off and spills the food. You can even pick it up by the lid. The puzzle is not tippy, but it does tend to slide around the floor. It comes with some suction pads; we haven't tried adding those, yet. A replacement compartment door is also included. The manufacturer is very considerate and responsive to email. The only thing that would make our dog happier would be if the button squeaked, but that might get annoying so not really a con that it doesn't.The clear cover is showing and scratches from being pushed with claws and it's quite slobbery. We haven't cleaned it yet, but I would think you could hose it off and then just let it dry. There are screws in the bottom so you could probably also completely disassemble it and put all the pieces in the dishwasher, or hand wash them.

Puppy learning and entertainment
I have a 7 month old golden retriever. He tended to empty his food bowl at lightening speed, especially in the evenings. I decided to put 1/3 of his dinner serving inside the dog puzzle. I made sure that there was food in each pocket before I put it on the floor so he could find it right away. Once he emptied those few pieces I showed him how I pushed down on the center to release the food. That was all it took. He loves it! Sometimes he gets overly excited and bounces up and down on the center like he's doing CPR, but it's durable enough to handle it. That said, one thing it won't handle is a warm or hot setting on a dishwasher. The clear lid became misshapen after a warm cycle. I just bought another one, so all is well!

Can I give this 6 stars? It’s THAT good!
This is our 5th puzzle feeder for my 2 year old lab. It took him a couple of days to catch on but he absolutely got the hang of it and looks forward to his meals. I had to sit with him and show him what to do for three sessions. He caught right on and loves the game. It’s sturdy, easy to clean and it works well. It has just the right number of steps to slow him down but not so many he gets frustrated. Now his meals last 10-12 minutes instead of 30 seconds. Overall his focus has improved and he seems better able to pay attention and learn. I LOVE this feeder. Absolutely worth the money.
