capacidad 1tb y estilo 4 tb, es un error?

Como sabras,el HDD que compré,fue para ser instalado en un sistema de camaras o sea en un NVR para correr con 14 camaras IP,y se suponia que se pudiera hacer un FORMAT para ponerlo a trabajar,pero al ejecutar la operacion nunca la realizó. De modo que de ninguna manera se pudo hacer la operacion y hubo de abortarse su uso. Esta es la informacion del disco: Western Digital Disco duro interno de vigilancia púrpura de 4 TB - SATA 6 Gb/s . La pregunta technica que me haces,creo que no viene al caso,pues el frabricante del disco dice en sus recomendaciones,que puede trabajar hasta con 64 camaras y yo solo uso 14 en el sistema que poseo.
