Works as described
This works very well with my young norfolk terrier, keeping him calm in groups of people where he would normally be hyper. Would recommend

Dog too clever for his own good
Worked brilliantly the first couple of times but the effect wore off the more we used it! Dog must have figured it out!

didn't work on mine
I have a very nervous dog in the car constantly cries. Tried this and it didn't calm him down at all so no good for my dog, which is. a shame. May be ok for other dogs.

Very surprised but it actually works
Was hugely sceptical and thought I might just be buying overpriced air freshener but it genuinely helps a huge amount with one of our dogs' car anxiety. He's gone from shaking and panting the entire time to just lying down.Still a bit jittery but nowhere near the same panic attack-level way he was before.

For us.....a waste of time.
Complete and utter waste of time and money. Bought 3 bottles as we were going to use it in the car and motorhome starting with short journeys and gradually increasing the journey time. He was already wearing the Adaptil collar around the house.Nothing changed at all. The smell reminded me of car spray paint (aerosol) but this is a finger pump.It looks like a mild sedative from the vet will be our route......and cheaper than Adaptil sadly.

Works for Anxiety
This seems to have negated my dogs anxiety for travel in the car. Was sceptical and thought its expensive to try but it really does work. She was at the point of shaking going in the car.I don't know if it would be calming for a hyper active traveller, But for my dogs fear type it seems to be a definite support if not a cure.

Spray obviously not new, looks like a return
Adaptil travel spray just arrived. Cardboard envelope fine but carton surrounding spray had been tampered with. Then checked spray bottle and it is only two-thirds full! I desperately need to try the spray today with my new rescue dog so cannot return it. There also seems to be no way to make this complaint and request a refund other than giving this revue. Please get back to me with an explanation and refund, either full or partial. It is possible this had previously been a return that had been partially used.

Helps settle and comfort anxious or stressed dogs at all life stages.
I usually have a bottle of DAP on hand for stressful times for my dogs - sudden or unexpected disruptions to their daily routines; thunderstorms, car journeys, and of course fireworks night (which is more like fireworks fortnight nowadays). Some dogs don't seem to be affected at all by DAP, but many dogs, including my own, do display more settled behaviours which is why I keep a bottle around. I got this new bottle as it's coming up to fireworks. My dogs are sensitive souls. I think they probably worry about how fireworks make me react as well as hating the screeches and bangs themselves - but anxiety is anxiety, whatever the cause.DAP for the dogs - Whisky for Maggie. Except not, as I'd probably just end up fighting the neighbours. These bottles of spray can be a booster when used in conjunction with a DAP plug in, or they can be used on their own. The 'reassurance' pheromone contained in DAP spray is in a volatile compound which needs to evaporate before the dog can properly detect DAP, so I spray a few puffs ten minutes or so in advance - in the car before a journey, or round their bedding/denning areas (storms or disruptions) or on my clothes and a few squirts into the air when it's fireworks. The calming effect should last a good couple of hours and you don't need much - dogs can pick up on just a few molecules in the air, and that's enough.A bottle lasts ages and has a shelf life of years if kept in its box.Online prices can differ, so it's worth shopping around - but get it from a reputable seller on here, as fakes do occur.
