I have a small back yard pond that is about 4' x 8' and have lots of vegetation and trees that deposit their debris into the pond and would float around and I would always have to scoop it up, this solves that problem!!! Now the skimmer picks all of that up and keeps my pond clean!It was very easy to install, and came with everything that you need to install it, except for some hand tools. You will need a shovel, utility knife, and a large screwdriver. I had it installed within a couple of hours.

I ordered this to replace an older Aquascape skimmer box, which had 2 side openings for the pump connection and a back opening for the overflow connection. The photo on the company website plus the product manual both show a back opening but that was not the case when our contractor went to install it! He had to reroute the existing plumbing and it was a mess and more costly for the installation! And I also paid for the "overflow" connection kit ($50) which was not suitable for the side hole the installer had to use.

Just received. Shows pump in the description, does not mention it doesn’t have one. Pretty expensive for a plastic bucket. Now have to figure out which pump fits it

I really wanted to like this. I needed something with good capacity to sit on a shallow ledge in a pre-existing pond. This skimmer had the lowest profile of the larger well-rated skimmers. However, despite being listed as adequate for up to a 200 sq ft pond, it did not have the capacity to handle my 150 sq ft pond. It required attention every 2-3 days or flow would almost stop. The mesh net seems to gunk up fast restricting flow even if it is not that full of leaves or other floating matter. However, the real negative is that it is difficult to remove the net for cleaning without spilling leaves or other items that it had collected. This means they get underneath or behind the net when you replace and end up clogging your pumps intake filter. I'm going back to my previous skimmer. It was taller and required keeping the water level in a very narrow band but it was way easier to clean, could often go 2-3 weeks without cleaning, and let very little larger material through to clog the pump itself. The one benefit of this purchase is that it revived my appreciate of my old skimmer.
