When my 12 year old son wanted to try out baseball, I didn't want to get an exorbitant mitt so got this as a cheap, entry level glove. It's so good that I actually bought myself one immediately after we received it! The ball sticks well into the glove - it did advertise that it didn't need breaking in but I'd been sceptical.I see it comes in many sizes - we both got 12.5 as he's got a very big 12 year old hand and I have a very big but slim lady's hand. The thumb part adjusts well with velcro to tighten and loosen so you've got a fair bit of leeway in the size for growing room- it won't fall off if too big if you tighten the thumb loop. It is fake leather so gets sweaty quickly but is doing the job well so far with good sticking power.
