Lansinoh Lanolin Lip Balm, Moisturizing Lip Care, 4 Pack, 0.25 Ounces Each

I recently started Accutane and for the first month and a half dry lips were my biggest and worst side effect. Before starting accutane i had relatively soft lips and I just used Vaseline lip therapy every night and every morning and the occasional lip gloss during the day. By my second month of accutane that wasn’t cutting it anymore and my lips were dry, cracked, and it hurt to open my mouth. I tried aquaphor lip repair and it helped but only while it was on my lips, it didn’t feel like it was healing anything. Then I found out about lanolin from a random Reddit thread and I’m not kidding when I say it’s a game changer. This is the first pure lanolin lip product I’ve ever tried and I’m so far loving it and I think everyone with dry accutane lips should try it.PROS: It feels super hydrating and moisturizing. It lasts really long on my lips- even longer than Vaseline and aquaphor. It’s glossy, like the absolute glossiest lip balm I’ve ever tried which I wasn’t expecting because often lip products are either glossy or moisturizing but rarely both so I was very pleasantly surprised. Even after it’s gone from my lips (which can take a few hours) my lips still feel soft and hydrated.CON: there’s only one and it doesnt really bother me but lanolin is sensitive to temperature so in the cold it can get stiff and/or whitish so i have to either warm up the tube in my hands or warm the product up on my lips so that it doesnt stay white and I can see that high intensity shine do it’s thing.Lanolin is my new favorite lip ingredient and using it together with Aquaphor healing ointment (not lip repair) has restored my lips to their former glory. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they’re even better than they were pre-accutane.While this review is more about the wonders of lanolin than about this specific product, I got this brand because i saw it the most recommended. Anyway, I like the size of these, they’re small and very portable and a good value for money. It also came as a pack of 4 which I didn’t initially realize but it’s great because now I can keep them around the house and in my coat and jacket pockets for easy access.

My lips have been SO chapped and dry, the kind where it's micro-flakes on your lips and you can't peel it only suffer. I got the lanolips to try, and although I liked it, it was a big sticky thick and didn't keep my lips moisturized longer than it lasted on my lips. The Lanolin works way better, feels thinner and more moisturizing for longer. I will say it comes in a smaller tube, but with x4 it's a much better price point than the lanolips.

Love this stuff - it lasts almost the whole day and keeps my lips moisturized. I switched from Aquaphor and find this brand to be better for me. It does look glossier than Aquaphor though, so depending on what you want that can be a pro or a con.

I liked that it seems unscented. It was easy to apply and was rich feeling. It didn’t keep my lips from being chapped however.

This is the only thing I can put on my lips without having an allergic reaction or very dry lips, besides vaseline. This product is superior because it comes from a food source and is natural. I used to use Eos and YL higher end lip balms and one day my lips just stayed red and irritated. This stuff really sticks to your lips. If I put it on at night I usually wake up to it still being on my lips.

This product is AMAZEBALLS!!My lips are soft, amd unlike regular chapstick my lips are breaking out.

My lips have been incredibly chapped, and most balms and lip masks have either not been helping or actually making it worse. It got to the point recently that I went to Walmart and got a big tube of Lansinoh nipple ointment. I figured, it helped with chapped nipples when I was nursing, so it would probably help my chapped lips. Well, it's amazing, and my lips were significantly better by the next morning.The problem is that I don't want to carry a huge tube of nipple cream around in my purse all the time, and I knew they used to sell the same product in tiny tubes that I could throw in my purse. They don't have those (at least not on Amazon) anymore, but they do have these lip balms, which are the exact same thing, but they don't say "nipple" on the package, and they have the little slanted applicator tip. They are GREAT, the size and name are discreet, and I keep one in my purse at all times.But I also still keep a big tube of the nipple cream next to my bed and one in the bathroom so that I can slather it on at night. It costs less than 1/2 the price per ounce, so it's much more cost effective, and it's great for all kinds of skin issues besides chapped lips (hello, soft knees and elbows!). I even use it for "slugging" - adding a thin layer all over my face some nights to lock in my moisturizer.So, absolutely get some of these little guys for your purse or your pocket, but if you're finding yourself wanting to slather your whole body in a thick layer of this amazing stuff, grab yourself a tube of nipple ointment and keep it next to your bed.
