Does this protect as well as the traditional hard cup? (in baseball)

It was designed for speeds coming off the bat for the 7-11 year old range. It also was meant for those kids who refused to wear a cup (will protect much better than nothing at all!)

Will it be big enough for a twelve year old

The Comfy Cup was designed for prepubescent boys. Some 12-year olds are able to wear it, but for some it is too small.

Comfy Cups are recommended hand-washable. However, we have tested several rounds of washing in the washing machine and even an accidental trip through the dryer on several occasions and it held up just fine.
