I bought three of these to capture audio for my film class that I teach (high school level).When I first opened the box and felt the microphone I was worried. The casing is plastic and has a "cheap-ish" feel to it. Putting the AA battery in gave it some weight which helped.However once I started using these I was very happy with the results. I have used them in two different ways.1) Using the microphone built into the H1 at the top. These two microphones at the top are incredibly sensitive (in a good way). You can whisper or shout and get good quality audio.2) Connected to the RODE NTG-2 Boom microphone. I mounted these to our DSLR flash shoe (adapter available on amazon). I then used the RODE NTG-2 microphone and connected them together with LyxPro XLR-Female to 3.5mm-Stereo (1/8" TRS) 25-ft Premium Series Cable for Professional MicrophonesI did have to boost the gain on the H1 to about 90% to get the full range of the NTG-2, but I have been using this system now for a while without fail.The H1 does have a levels meter on the display which allows the user to identify if you are overblowing the sound. It does loose the date and time when you change the battery but I don't care. It comes with a 2GB Micro SD card but that is enough for many (sound doesn't take up the same space as video does). You can easily put a larger card in there if you needed longer stretches of audio.Did find battery drained faster than initially expected, always have an extra AA on hand for big projects.Overall very impressed.

Audio Quality, Noise Cancellation, Features, Portability, Usability - Exceptional Exceptional Exceptional!!!No other mic/ recorder at this price does anything like this.Use it as recorder, connect and use it with DSLR/Laptop, use it with another mic, hear what you are recording, etc etc etc - this one checks all the right boxes. Despite being an 8-year-old device, it still is the best in its class, rather it outruns many other pricier models.But there are few things those are a little bummer -1. The build quality - It feels plastic... like cheap plastic.2. It doesn't come with any accessories, you can't even expect more at this price point.3. Just a 2gb card included, not an issue if you are recording mp3. With .wav, you'll get around 80-90min recording if can recall properly.4. Old technology in some places like Mini USB in the era of USB C, uses AA battery instead of built-in rechargeable battery etc. It's probably because it was launched long back in 2010 and has gotten only software updates.5. The included battery is not rechargeable.Below are the accessories you might need depending on your requirement -1. AA Rechargeable Battery (Sony/Panasonic - 500-1000 bucks)2. Rechargeable Battery Charger (Sony/Panasonic - 1400-1500 bucks)3. Hot Shoe Mount (Phenovo - 150-200 bucks) - To mount it on DSLR4. 3.5mm Stereo Cable (AmazonBasics Coiled Cable - 300-350 bucks) - To connect to DSLR5. Y Splitter (Tizum - 350-400bucks) - To record & listen (using earphone/headphone) at the same time6. Clip-On Mic (Boya-1500 bucks, not sure if the cheaper mics work) - For vlogging7. Mic Foam Sheild (70-100 bucks) - To reduce wind noise8. Mini USB Cable (200-400 bucks) - To record directly to the laptop. Remember you need a Mini USB, not Micro USB/USB C.9. AC Adaptor (You can use any charger with USB port) - To use it on AC, without worrying about battery drain.10. Mini Tripod (200-300 bucks)[P.S. - Please, don't buy the Zoom H1 Accessories Pack until and unless you want the carrying case, it's not worth the price at least in India]

El Zoom H1 es conocido entre los entusiastas del audio por la calidad de la marca y el resultado de sus productos. La ventaja de esta grabadora es su tamaño, su peso y sus capacidades. Los micrófonos acoplados funcionan bien, siempre que no haya corrientes de aire, y podemos graban en calidad baja, media o alta; y en formatos .mp3 o .wav. Yo recomiendo este último para una mejor calidad. Todas las grabaciones se guardan en una micro SD que puedes extraer para transmitir los datos a tu ordenador, aunque también puedes utilizar el cable incorporado.Personalmente, yo lo utilizo como dispositivo grabador de audio junto a un micrófono Rode y la combinación funciona extremadamente bien. Si buscas algo que te aporte el sonido que tu cámara jamás podrá aportarte, la marca Zoom es imposible de ignorar.

Ich habe das Z1 gekauft, weil ich in entsprechenden Rezensionen ausschließlich (sehr) Gutes darüber gelesen habe. Ich kann diese Top-Bewertungen nur bestätigen. Das Z1 ist angenehm klein und leicht, man kann es einfach überall hin mitnehmen. Die Bedienung ist sehr einfach. Die automatische Aussteuerung funktioniert sehr gut, so dass man nach der Grundeinstellung nur noch ein- und ausschalten muss. Für Aufnahmen empfiehlt es sich, das Gerät auf ein Stativ zu stellen und nur noch die rote Aufnahme-Ein- und -Ausschalttaste zu bedienen, da andere Berührungen des Gerätes Störgeräusche verursachen.Um angemessene Aufnahmedauer zu erreichen, sollte man gleich eine größere Speicherkarte einsetzen (z.B. 16 GB für über 7 Std. Aufzeichnungsdauer).Im Gegensatz zu anderen Rezensenten halte ich die Solidität des Gerätes für angemessen. Die Bügel bieten einen guten Schutz für die kleinen Mikrofone. Im Internet habe ich eine gut passende praktische und stabile Leder-Gürteltasche gefunden, die das Gerät zusätzlich schützt.Neben der regelmäßigen Aufnahme von Chorproben, habe ich kürzlich erstmalig ein ganzes Chorkonzert aufgezeichnet, allerdings unter Verwendung eines externen Sony-Mikrofons. Bei Vergleichsaufnahmen hatte ich vorher festgestellt, dass die Aufnahmen mit diesem sehr guten (und relativ teuren) externen Mikrofon doch etwas natürlicher klangen als mit den eingebauten Mikrofonen.Die dann von der Z1-Tonaufname angefertigte CD wurde von den Chormitgliedern begeistert aufgenommen.Die Z1-Tonaufnahme habe ich anschließend auch noch mit dem vom Konzert gedrehten Videofilm synchronisiert, also den Video-Originalton ersetzt. Das hat auch einwandfrei und lippensynchron funktioniert und gibt auch dem Videofilm einen außergewöhnlich guten Klang.Das Zoom H1 ist also als hochwertiges mobiles Audioaufzeichnungsgerät vielfältig einsetzbar und auch für engagierte Videofilmer ein wichtiges und tolles Zusatzgerät. Ich denke, dass es im Preis-Leistungsverhältnis (erst recht zu den neuen, niedrigeren Preisen) unschlagbar ist.
