Ceiling fan
Love the style, goes well with living room. Very heavy and built well. Great value. No remote with it but did install a Hunter universal remote when we put it up. The fit was perfect for our medium sized room.

The only brand I'll ever own.
It's a great product and even a more outstanding company. This is my seventh Hunter fan in the last 30 years. It's super easy to install and is as quiet as a whisper. It arrived with a broken globe, but after a quick communication with the company, a replacement was shipped free of charge.

Whisper quiet is AWESOME
I never realized how loud my Harbor Bay ceiling fan was until I bought this to replace it. The old one wa brass, which was so ugly. I bought this one because it can be installed to match up to my 2 switch fan controls on the wall. Assembly was clear and easy. Once complete, there was a clicking sound, which was annoying and I took it all apart again. Then I realized it was a wire rubbing on the top of it, which I should have checked for before putting the whole thing together. After the 2nd assembly, it works like a charm! So quiet, and a nice breeze. Got can't ask for more from a great fan company like Hunter, and $100 was the right price!

Best hugger fan for the $$
Needed 2 hugger, low profile ceiling fans for a second dwelling. I did not want to pay more than 100 $ each. Hard to find--I like Hunter brand--took me a couple of years to find these but they are quiet, effective and economical . Highly recommended.

Great fan with a few hiccups
First off, after reading some of the other reviews it seems some people may have purchased a different type of fan from Hunter than I did. To clarify, I purchased and received the "Hunter 53327 52" Builder Low Profile New Ceiling Fan with Light, Bronze".The item arrived on time (GO PRIME!) and in good condition. It was well packaged, something I have come to appreciate since purchasing several other items in messy packaging. Some assembly is required! The fan comes in about 10 or so pieces. I began installing the fan and found the instructions to be quite simple to understand. Each step is well explained, and while it warns in the beginning to seek help from an electrician I found that the process was fairly straightforward. It explains, with pictures exactly how to connect the wiring from the roof to that coming from the motor of the fan. One slight mistake I did make during the process and want to point out, the anchor screws/bolts that would be used to attach the fan's anchoring plate to the ceiling outlet ARE NOT included with the package. As the instructions explain, these two screws/bolts should come with the ceiling outlet/plate already installed in the ceiling. I accidently used 2 of the golden screws mixed in with the hardware pack for this purpose, and then felt lost when it called for them later to lock the motor in place. It took me about 30 - 45 minutes to get the fan put together and installed, plus time to remove the old fan that I'm moving to another room.down. For a first-time fan installer, and someone with limited electrical knowledge I found that reasonable. As other buyers have mentioned, the fan does run quietly, I am quite impressed by both the appearance and performance of the unit.CONS:There are three particular things that I have had issues with, and the reason this received 4 stars and not 5...First, the motor is locked into place by two screws that simple slide across it preventing it from coming out. After installation, if you lift the unit from underneath it still feels loose. Perhaps this was intentional, something engineering, or perhaps a design choice to save money...?Second, The piece that comes down to pull, allowing you to control the fan, came off from the beads it was attached to. I was dissapointed in this, but it was most likely a fault in the process for creating the metal knob. (see pics)Third and MOST IMPORTANTLY, after installing the fan I left it to run for awhile to see how it did (lights and fan on). When I came back after a relatively short time and reached up to touch it I realized that the glass surrounding the light bulbs and even the metal frame they're attached into was hot to the touch. Perhaps not burn hot, but hot enough you won't leave your hand on it! I looked the issue up online and found many articles about this same issue on Hunter fans (without even searching for Hunter in the keywords)... Many people also mentioned a burning smell. I found one article that mentioned the light bulbs as the culprit of this excess heat, and the rubber rings around the glass casing for the lights as the source of the smell. Sure enough, I replaced the bulbs that came with the unit with some 40w LED bulbs and the issue seems to have disappeared! :D The unit now works great! Just don't lift it from below for no reason...

Good for low ceilings
I'm 6'2" in the photo, the ceiling is 8' . I did position it over a coffee table, but I can still walk under it (get dinged with the chains, sure. But I can if I wanted to!). My setup was a little complicated. I could not get into the walls or ceiling, so I had to install into the ceiling stud, drill a hole in the side of the base to run the cord and then I used cable management to run the wire along the ceiling and down the wall. I used this cord (B075BM2H62) with this wire stripper (B07GJFVXXD) and this cable management (B01F2REREU) except the wall anchors they want you to use are brutal, so I used these (B0019R6SO0) Monoprice Circle cable clips with steel nail, 10mm, 100pcs/Pack instead. They are the perfect height and hold everything in place with less fuss and wall damage. I am certain that with all of my fussing, I did something because the fan is not silent, but I have a feeling that is my fault. The one complaint that I had was that it could be engineered to be easier to install. A million little screws in the presence of gravity, on a step-stool and a non-magnetized screwdriver... I went straight to the bar after this photo!
