Q: The dial on the flapper: How does it work?

Great question! There are several numbers located on the underside of the flapper near the band. By turning the dial to the higher numbers, it closes off the holes allowing the flapper to float longer (this cause more water to enter your toilet bowl. By turning the band to the lower numbers, the flapper takes on water and closes faster (flushing less water).
