Much cheaper option for these on this website as opposed to fence company websites. No complaints as the quality appears just as good as any other product of this type. Used them on my timeless high-tensile wire fence for tensioning.

I grew up using the old twist a stick in the wires to tighten the fence. Here are a game changer!! Buy them! Less dangerous and easier to deal with. Plus makes the fence look better.

Came exactly as described! I only gave 4 stars since I ordered 6 of these and they put them all in one box. So, by the time they got to me the box was a mess.

For the price, I think it would be hard to beat this product as a fence wire tensioner. I used it on pretty heavy barbed wire, and it worked well. The only thing I didn't like, using it on an existing fence was the fact that you had to cut the wire to attach it to the tensioner. I know it was designed for electric fence wire or corner post brace wire, but with a few alterations, I was able to tighten an existing barbed wire fence without having to cut it. The trick is to make a steeple out of heavy gauge wire that will fit through the two holes in the spool to trap the wire so it will wind up as you work the rachet. I also ground a slot in the front of the bracket that holds the spool so it would slide over the wire for stability. Pics included. And by the way, the tensioner handle that is recommended with this product doesn't work without some serious alterations.

These cost less than the typical farm supply stores and work just as well. This was a repeat purchase. I expand or move fencing as needed and end up buying more of these each time.
