Cat Crack
So...I have bought more cat foods than I can count, as my sensitive tummy 12 year old Persian boy has yet to find the perfect food. We have gone through years of vomiting, diarrhea, refusal to eat, etc. He has a clean bill of health from the Vets, with no underlying health issues. It is just a matter of finding s food that works for him. He has been on supplements, prescription foods, wet, dry, grain free, he has tried them all. Some foods have given him temporary reprieve from frequent vomiting and loose stool, but the vomiting always comes back or he will just quit eating the food. Of course, I had considered this breed specific food, but was concerned that it wasn't grain free and I wasn't a fan of the overall ingredients, including the "chicken by-product". After trying 4 different foods in 60 days with results varying from horrible, to "maybe a winner", I finally gave this food a whirl. Flat faced, semi-toothless Kitty gobbled up this food from the start and he totally flung less food than normal. Typically, it looks like a tornado has gone across his bowl, with kibble strewn all over the floor. Either he was being super careful to get every bite possible in his Persian mouth, or it truly is the unique shape that helped control food fling. Either way, it is a much less messy dining experience. The first week, zero vomit, zero bloody stool and much firmer poo. Kitty was eating like a champ. Wow! Day 10: 4am wake up to kitty wretching next to our bed (why can't animals puke on non-carpeted areas??). Bummer. We flipped on the lights for cleaning and saw just a big pile of regurgitated food. No hairballs, no bile and no rogue leaves or anything foreign. This was a good sign. Continued. Day 12: 3am puking cat wake up. Again, just food in the vomit. Took pic and sent to vet. She said he is eating too much too fast and not fully digesting. Usually, we would put a small bowl out for him to self feed all day and with this food, he was gobbling it all up in one sitting. The vomit has nothing to do with being non-compatible with kitty's tummy, vet said he likes it so much, it is like cat crack and he can't get his fix fast enough. Yay. So, problem is, he LOVES the food and is consuming too quickly. We have now cut down on the portions and while he keeps meowing for more kibble (makes this cat mama shed tears), we now give him 2 small portions and monitor his mealtime. Licks his bowl clean. day 14: no vomit. His stool is still firm and the proper kitty poo nugget size. He also seems to be shedding less and tangling less. For now, this is a miracle food. Cat crack in a bag. It is appropriately priced, as well. We were spending $40+ on other brands that had ill effects. We now just need to ensure he doesn't overeat, little piggy!

Got rid of hairballs
My kitty is not a Persian but is a longer-haired white calico. There's just so much fur, everywhere, all the time. She's been with me for 13 years and has coughed up hairballs (or tried to) 4-5x per month all that time.I've tried various hairball remedies such as supplements, treats, gels, oils, and cat food specifically for hairballs with no success. She generally eats kibble from Taste of the Wild or Blue Buffalo, though she is not picky at all and will eat whatever I put in front of her. She was a rescue and severely malnourished when she came to me and had lost several teeth. Since then she has lost ALL her teeth but otherwise seems very healthy and happy. Cats don't chew their food and don't need teeth to eat kibble, as long as it's smaller pieces, so I'm mindful of that when I choose a new cat food.Royal Canin Persian Breed Adult Dry Cat Food is expensive, period. Fifty bucks fora small bag? Ouch. I bought the 7 lb bag initially and kitty had no hesitation diving right in and seemed to enjoy it. I appreciate that the kibble is small and she had no trouble with the shape or size.It took her about 3 months to finish the whole bag and seemed to put on some weight. I know the Persian food has more healthy fats, and she's not as active as she used to be, so I decided the next bag would be one of the other brands she usually eats as I don't want her to get to an unhealthy weight. I wasn't really thinking about hairballs then but within a week of starting the new food (Blue Buffalo) she was hacking up hairballs again, and I realized that she hadn't had a hairball in a couple of months!I ordered the Royal Canin again and will just have to be more careful with her weight and try to squeeze in more activity. When it arrived I put some in her bowl which still had some Blue Buffalo kibble in it, and she has carefully eaten around those Blue Buffalo bits all week, lol. I guess she definitely has a preference for the Royal Canin.I'm so pleased to finally find a solution for her hairballs and I hate that I didn't find it sooner.

My cat’s favorite, but WHY is it so expensive??
So, my Persian cat was raised on this food…she loves it and so do my other 2 non-Persian, but long haired cats. My Persian is going on 13 years old, so, I’ve been buying this food for a long time and whoa, it has gone up in price astronomically. Just 4 years ago it was $26.99-$31.99, now it is $45.99. That is outrageous! Even with the subscribe and save, it is so expensive. I know inflation is gauging everyday Americans, but this is ridiculous! I can’t possibly switch her food now, she’s a senior gal!

Great for fast eating cats
We have a siamese that inhales his food and then pukes it up. This food in conjunction with a slow feeder bowl has been a lifesaver. Due to the larger size of kibble, we can clearly see that he has to spend more time chewing each piece individually which slows him down and reduces puking events.
