Bought this for my 6 month old grandson for Christmas and it quickly became his favorite.His face lit up the minute he saw it. It lights up, plays music, is super soft and is adorable. This is perfect for a girl or boy and would be great for an infant toddler, or young child. It is very cute and cuddly. It would be very comforting to a child who has a fear of the dark, as it lights up just a bit. Its like having a nightlight in your arms. I am very, very happy with it . It's small enough that it can be carried around by a small child, even put in a mother's purse or diaper bag. This would make a great baby shower gift, it's great for a girl or boy.

It plays calming lullabies, gentle ocean sounds, and even soothing bubble noises.The soft glow is comforting without being too bright, and I love that the sound/light unit is removable so the plush cover can be washed such a smart design for parents. We received one of these as a gift when our son was an infant. It accompanied him to bed and on car rides many times. Then a year or so ago (at age 5), I gave it away, thinking he had lost interest. Silly me. When he would get upset about something, he would say he wished he still had his seahorse. I finally gave in and ordered a new one. I have to say, he probably enjoys it just as much now, at age 6, as he did as an infant/toddler. He says the face is super cute (it is). He takes music lessons and recognizes some of the songs, so it is possibly educational too. We put the volume at the lowest setting (there are only two); the higher one just seems too loud. The glow is soft and comforting at night, not glaring. We had to change the batteries a few times in our old seahorse, but not that often considering how much use it got, so I feel like it doesn't drain batteries very fast--always a plus--and the sound would get distorted before the batteries totally ran out, so we had a bit of warning before we had to change the batteries. Overall, a nice, comforting, musical toy!

My one year old received the blue version of this toy as one of his Christmas gifts and payed it little mind in the playroom. When he started having some trouble getting to sleep at around 17 months, we tried offering it to him at bedtime and taught him how to activate it. Huge hit! It’s a great size for cuddling, the music is soothing and soft, and he is enamored with the light. I also really appreciate that it can be machine washed. He turns it on every night when we lay him down in his crib, and I occasionally hear him turn it on in the middle of the night or when he wakes up early in the morning. It has really helped him get to sleep more happily. I highly recommend this toy, with the caveat that it’s not necessarily a sleep miracle for all children. My four year old asked for her own seahorse, so I got her one for Valentines Day. She is good at getting to sleep happily and loves a stuffed animal, so I figured she would be quite satisfied with it. She was, of course, but I did not realized that much of her satisfaction would come from repeatedly activating the seahorse to use as a reading light. I let it go for a few hours before I intervened. Anyway, this toy has been well loved in our house 100% of the time, but only worked well as a sleep aid 50% of the time. Still a great purchase!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my (then) 3 month old son, during the 2022 holiday season, as I've heard many positive reviews about it.It's a pretty good plushie, has a nice variety of tunes (one being something I hadn't heard since I was a 1st Grader way back when), and the little bubble/ocean sound effects are very soothing.My son is now 6 months old and is currently teething and in the "separation anxiety" phase (I can't even go in the kitchen and grab a glass of water without him screaming like I abandoned him). Whenever I give him the seahorse plushie and turn the tunes on, he calms down alot. He loves this little thing so much, it goes everywhere with him (whenever we have to go somewhere or it's with him during naptime and bedtime).My 4 year old daughter also loves this plushie, as well. Unfortunately, she keeps taking it from her baby brother.The only minor complaints I have with this toy is the music is a little too loud and the light on the seahorse's belly is a bit on the bright side. Although it hasn't been a real issue for my son yet, I do wish there was a switch to turn the music and light down to a quieter and dimly-lit setting.

I can't not tell you how many of these I've boughten over the years. I give these for babysitter gifts. They also have a pink one, so that's a plus. I always tell them to play the music while the baby is still in the stomach so they get used to it. You would not believe how many people thank me. When the baby is born and says it keep them so calm. Plus the music is so soothing and doesn't get annoying. Definitely a must buy, it also functions as a night light. The battery last a long time. I can go on and on about this. Trust me, it is way worth it.
