VERY nice coffee for your coffee maker
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I visited a buddy at his house and had a cup of coffee made by his fully automatic coffee maker. (His is very similar to mine, but more expensive than the one I subsequently purchased here on Amazon.) Check out my review for that. Anyway, I was really impressed with the coffee he made. When I received the order, yup, it was as good as what I had experienced at my friend’s home. Just go for it, you’ll like it, too!

Excellent quality
Since I drink a lot of coffee, I go half-caf with my brewed coffee. Unfortunately, the box stores in our area stopped selling quality, Swiss-process decaffeinated coffee beans. Therefore, I was very pleased to find SF Coffee Company decaf available via Amazon. I have purchased and enjoyed their coffee for >20 years, and they are excellent! So I still purchase my regular coffee beans locally, but I have subscribed to auto-delivery for the SF Coffee Co Decaf beans.

Good value - on the smoky side
The coffee is a true dark roast. I prepared it using the pour-over paper filter method. It cost me roughly 20 bucks, and I find it almost indistinguishable from the Costco Green and White Kirkland House Blend bag. The difference is that Costco’s offering costs about 17 bucks here and gives you an extra half pound compared to this coffee.Twenty dollars is still a good value compared to Starbucks, but for this price, I’d prefer the Lavazza Super Crema. This coffee doesn’t list a roast date—which would be very helpful (what are they hiding?)—but it does have a "best by" date in 2026. Coffee is fresh for one or two months after roasting, then starts to degrade, so that date seems like wishful thinking. To be fair, Costco also doesn’t include a roast date. They also don’t disclose where their beans are sourced from. I’ve had a few bags of Costco coffee that wouldn’t bloom when water was added. This indicates the coffee is very old and the CO₂ has dissipated. This coffee, however, bloomed quite a bit, leading me to believe it’s fresher.Overall, it’s not bad—a little on the smoky side, but not too much. I have yet to try it in the espresso maker. I may update this once I do.

Nice medium flavor that tastes neutral
Truly a medium blend and nice flavor on its own. I have since blended this with an expresso bean in my super automatic Jura E6 to make the flavor a bit more robust so i can drink more coffee with less caffeine overall. The blend means the expresso shots are strong and flavorful enough and the regular coffee pulls are also fine for flat whites, lattes or even cold brews. I do set the grinder towards the finer end of the scale for more crema and strength

Easy on the stomach, strong flavor
San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser coffee has been an enjoyable change for me. Normally I would buy the darker roast coffees like French roast, but the Fog Chaser still has a good strong flavor, and maybe a little less acid. I don't know that for sure, but it is easier on my stomach. I haven't had the stomach problems I normally get and I still get good coffee.

Great Decaf!!!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This Decaf coffee is GREAT!! I prefer to get the whole beans so that I know exactly what's in my cup and I've tried MANY brands. I'm also very picky about ONLY buying "water processed" so as not to have the chemicals used to decaffeinate coffee in my cup. This is probably my favorite in regards to taste and price. Love it!

Not great. Not bad, either.
It’s okay. Not terrible. Not great. I had been buying 32-oz. bags of Sumatran beans so I’m probably spoiled, but they went up to just under $30 and that is just way too much to pay for coffee, so I switched to this. I guess these beans’ best point is that it is very smooth and not the least bit bitter, but it is not rich or fragrant or full- bodied; it’s ….drinkable and hot and gives me my caffeine jolt for the morning.

Good coffee and a great value
As any coffee lover knows there is an unbelievable amount of choices out there. Personally, we enjoy trying as many as we can in our coffee consumption journey. We had never tried this brand before and it’s at a fair price- at least on Amazon. It has a rich full body flavor but not too bitter or burnt tasting (I’m looking at you SB). Good coffee- good value - hard to beat.
