I wanted a rugged lightweight knife for day hikes. A knife this small can do most jobs around a campsite if it is one piece and rugged like the Candiru.

My son recommended this one for me. I like the size and how well made it is. Keep with me when walking and my driving trips. Hangs around my neck like a long necklace. Wish the chain came with it, I had to buy that separately.

first off i’ll say this knife isnt stainless so if routine maintenance is a problem for you dont buy one. if you’re the type to take care of a blade the toughness and ease of sharpening are worth a bit of extra effort. i carry it on my hip daily for work and absolutely love it. discrete size but big enough for most edc tasks. i work with a lot of very harsh chemicals every day and the protective finish they use is very tough. not trying to destroy it but not exactly trying not to either. worst case the lifetime replacement warranty will always be there too. definitely recommend scales as the skeletonized handle is a hair thin for a good grip.

I love Esee knives, but forgot that they come from the factory razor sharp. Knife was stiff coming out of the sheath. I was careless when it turned loose and sliced my thumb. My carelessness, not Esee's fault. Great knives, would highly recommend to anyone and they have the BEST warranty around

Lays flat in your pocket, super strong, holds an edge nice. Got this as a replacement for another candiru I carried for years.
