I have a been taking it for about two months now. I assume my body is utilizing at as it should but I have no independent way of knowing for sure. I will keep taking it until I find some reason to take something different.

I graduated to Solaray Calcium Bisglycinate with Vitamin D3, having previously taken Solaray Calcium Hydroxyapatite, which was recommended to me by a now-retired health food store owner. It is important to take a bioavailable form of calcium (one that your body can more easily use). Solaray is a leader in that regard. I have experienced difficulty finding the Calcium Bisglycinate with Vitamin D3, at times, so I stock up on the large bottles when I do find it. I try to keep a 6-month supply of all my supplements on hand (stored in a cool, dry, dark place).

I have celiac disease and a fussy gut. Calcium carbonate gives me constipation and calcium citrate has the opposite effect. This form of calcium provokes no reaction at all from my gut.I have severe osteoporosis and need to keep my calcium level high to build new bone. I take two capsules with each meal, that equals 1500 IU of calcium, slightly more than recommended, but I have a damaged gut.
