This bin is great. We had the previous one for several years and the only things wrong are that (a) if you use the buttons rather than the infrared sensor the plastic wears over time and (b) like all bins it can get a bit grimy inside. So when looking to replace the previous one I simply shopped around to find exactly the same thing (which must count as a recommendation?!). BTW I think it's as the batteries die but from time to time it stops doing the IR sensing thing (red LED flashing) but requires buttons to be used but if you get to that point just push and hold the close button and it will switch back to IR operation.

I *love* this bin but my wife jokingly calls it a 'death trap'! The great thing is you don't need to touch the lid - so no more greasy finger marks and a lot less cleaning. It also seems very good at containing smells. Easy to fit and remove bags and I think it looks good. The issue my wife has is the length of time the lid stays open on the automatic open and shut timer but that is easily overridden. The only other negative is If someone walks close to the bin then the lid opens.

I liked opening the lid with a swipe of my hand, no need to touch the bin at all. I cannot think of any dislikes. Very good value for money.

This is our third attempt at an automatic bin and the best by far. Great when your hands are full. A good feature is that the top of the bin never catches on bag when removing, so no bag splits on bin day. Writing a review now as we have had bin 7 months and autosensor/motor malfunctioned - messaged bracket sales on Saturday - reply first thing Monday promising new lid - arrived Tuesday. Great after sales service and hopefully this lid will last the distance.

I read and ignored some of the less favourable reviews, and now I'm writing one. Bin was okay, until about month 3, then it wouldn't stay open despite using the 'open' button, and when it did open automatically, it closed immediately. The number of tea bags that have landed on the lid because it closed too quickly, could restock India! Was able to return for a refund. I've gone back to my ridiculously expensive, manual, Brabantia.

It's a year since I bought 2 of theseI had someone who had memory problems and difficulty with fine movement. Using this bin to get rid of sanitary products proved very usefulIt was easy to put together and insert batteries. ring keeps black bag in situ - no bags dropping out as they get heavier. Clever open/close system without touching. Great in these days of greater care with hygiene and hand washing.Make sure you read all about the item as they DO NOT come with batteries! Like Christmas and toys make sure there are batteries.I am glad there is an on/off switch. I bought 2 of these and my only criticism would be the touch is very easily triggered opened. I couldn't understand the odd noise occasionally coming from the kitchen and it was the lid opening and closing. What was concerning was I realised it was opened by a fly landing on it as when I went to use the bin when I opened it a fly flew out- not welcome in the hot weather!I made use of the on/off switch so it doesn't open when I am not I kitchen. I am very pleased with these bins and would recommend them.The original batteries are still working as of June 26th 2021.

Bought this because my wife has managed to break two bins in the last six months. This works very well, the lid pops up promptly whenever your hand goes near and drops down after a few seconds. There’s a good sized target area to hurl rubbish into and bin liners are held in place with a plastic rim to stop that oh so awful slippage. The model i bought requires 3 D batteries, but none are included, you have to buy them separately.

Was pleased when it came but didn’t last long. I’ve had a sensor bin before which lasted a long time. This one needed new batteries too often and the hinges broke within six months.
