We got a handyman to install this in an interior wall leading to a coat closet (repurposed to a cat room with our Litter Robot) and it has served the purpose purrfectly. Our cat was initially hesitant but was using this independently within a couple days.

The door is really nice. and I like it a lot.I did need the liner(s) because I put it in a wall so that my cat won't scream at 4am anymore to be let out of the room for water. Since you have to have them for a wall I will tell you that if you have standard interior wall you will need TWO (2) liners. It's really annoying and I will give the liners themselves 1 star for this because it is really ridiculous. Furthermore, in order to get them to fit in a standard wall you have to cut 1.25 sections off one of the liner. That might not make sense until you get the item but there are 3 grooves in each liner you will have to saw off 1.25 of those grooves for the liner and door to fit nicely in a standard size interior wall. I initially only did 1 groove because I was like "how bad could it be, I mean the grooves should be guide" WRONG - they are not and I really think that the designers need to reevaluate the liners so that you only need to buy one liner for a standard wall size and also set the groove better (or remove them completely) so that they will have a greater benefit (or less confusion for the customer).

This cat door is installed in the door between our kitchen and our garage. The purpose of the door is to get her litter box out of the house area since we seem to have some allergy problems. Since the cat already liked to go into the garage it was no problem to get her to use it. We propped it open at first and she went in and out the second day. Within a week the door was closed and she was using it many times a day. It closes quietly and seems to seat well. It does not swing back and forth when used. The installation was done by our handy-man and he said the instructions were clear and he encountered no problems. We don't plan to use the lock but did notice that it was difficult to slide back and forth. The garage is uninsulated but heat and humidity do not seem to leak into the kitchen and we're hoping the same is true when cold weather arrives. I should note that our cat is less than 10 lbs and I think the door would be a tight fit for an animal much larger than that.

I bought this so my cat could easily go up and down from our basement without leaving the door propped open. It was easy to install, my husband removed the door from the hindges to make it easier. We have a hollow core basement door and the liner fit perfectly. We did not have to make any adjustments. I love that this has a locking feature, so that when we have family parties and dont want to worry about the cat jumping on the tables of food we can put him in the basment and be worry free! My cat is 14lbs and he fits thru with no problem. If he was to get any fatter though we might run into a problem but he doesnt struggle at all.... Only thing is getting him use to it. Right now we have to leave the door flap tied up and open because he will not push the door himself yet. We are hoping soon he will get use to it, but even now, we have it propped on the inside and dont even notice it. I am very pleased with this and it looks great on our white door!

It says "with door liner" but the product does not come with any part that covers up the inside of the door in a standard internal door in the U.S.Also, delivered a week late.
