Q: Could i mount this unsung only the top 2 screws? i.e. on the bottom 2 holes of my stand. the top 2 holes are already in use by another tray.

I doubt you will have the clearance or the weight limit latitude. You could use a VISA Mount plate doubler, vertically fitted to the arm to provide clearance and a safe and strong mount (also use stronger M5 stainless steel mounting bolts (A2 or A4 marine). However, first calculate the weight of the adapter Bracket, laptop mount, your chosen laptop and the existing weight of your other bracket and item to ensure you do not exceed the maximum OR level weight. If you exceed the level weight your arm will not stay in position across the full range of movement (refer to Ergotron instruction sheet for both weight limit values).

Q: Can this attach onto the ergotron lx desk mount lcd arm w/o extra equipment (ie instead of attaching an lcd i attach this tray & my laptop)?

Yes it can, it comes with all of the bolts and accessories for securing the laptop to the tray
