Walker Exhaust 31357 Exhaust Pipe Flange Gasket

This product fit just right for my vehicle.

This was an adventure. The exhaust on my OB was kludged up by a PO, and so I had to figure out what was what and what parts would work. I got this, the 35412, and the 31884 to put everything back together.

I purchased this Seal for my early 02 Subaru Forester. I needed an entire exhaust system from just behind the Cat ConverterShipping was very quick & in great shape 3-days to my door & that was using the standard method 5/8 days free shipping.The repair took roughly 45mins to an hour as I also took the time to paint the new parts with BBQ Hi-Heat blackin an effort to prolong the life of the exhaust. The original gasket in my exhaust system deteriorated and ultimately fell apart (who knows where), gushing exhaust fumes under the passenger compartment of my 1999 Subaru Outback. The chain store where I take my car for oil changes wanted to replace my catalytic converter ($600 quote) due to significant rust of the flange where it connects to the rest of the exhaust system. I figured I would try replacing the gasket (and the spring and bolt kit while I was at it) instead to see if I could squeeze another few years out of the car before I replace it. The hardest part of the job was extracting the old, rusted spring bolts. The gasket itself went right in and sealed nicely when I tightened the bolts. No more exhaust leak!

Product arrived ahead of expected schedule andf in safe condition. Will be installing once the remained of my parts order arrives.

This is an easy repair, only requiring the front end of the car to be put on jack stands. I would advise to also purchase the two (or three, depending on production year) spring bolts that secure the joint.

Used it to replace the one that rotted away in my 04 Impreza Outback Sport. Fit fine in the OEM exhaust. There will probably be some of the old gasket left behind, I used a stubby flat head to scrape it out and I put a ring of heat resistant silicone around the gasket before final installation. Car is way quieter now.

First of all, one must make triple sure that this product Fits your vehicle. My exhaust gasket did not fit on my vehicle, even though at the top of the page it did say "this product fits your vehicle.." Not seeing and knowing that on the right side further down it stated "except 4wheel drive or all wheel drive"I would highly recommend that this hidden away detail should be at the top of the page.I now have a gasket that is no good to me, and if I ship it back it will cost me even more.It was a night mare trying to find out from anyone at amazon what size pipe the exhaust gasket would fit.
