What country are these manufactured in?

Hi, at the bottom of the outside of the plastic box reads "manufactured in the PRC." I am assuming that these means the Peoples Republic of China. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find any decent pens that are manufactured completely in the USA. Here are some unsolicited comments: You did not ask this, but this ink is not waterproof as stated in the description. Coming into contact with any moisture causes it to bleed and blur immediately. Even after leaving the ink on the paper for several days, the result is the same with any contact to moisture. The ink, also, bleeds through to the paper of the paper. You would never be able to write anything on the back of any paper as you can see the ink. Hope this helps.

Is the ink waterproof?

NOI I had finished a beautiful watercolor painting as a gift last Christmas and attempted to do a bit more ink and wash, but when my damp watercolor brush touched this ink, it ran and ruined my gift. The barrel of these pens say waterproof/ fade resistant/ acid free. I contacted the company (Arteza) and they said it did not say waterproof. I sent them a picture of my pens and never heard back. All I can say is BEWARE...they will run if dampened.

are these okay to write on rubber?

I have never tried, but I imagine it would work well. They do take a little time to dry when on other surfaces, so you might need to be careful not to smudge it
