The Mega Chef 1.7Lt. Stainless Steel Electric Tea Kettle looks like a quality kettle and heats water quickly and without a fuss. I bought this kettle as a gift for our pastor and his wife, and they can't say enough good things about it. It looks nice on their countertop and only takes up a little space. They use it for hot drinks and for making single-sized soups. When I'm in the market for a new kettle, I'll buy this kettle for myself.

Do your price checking and see if you can get one as attractive, that works as great and includes a tea infuser. Good luck. Had it been possible, I would have bought that one.

I lived in a Forest Service dorm in Alaska and this stood up to over a dozen people constantly using it for hot drinks etc. The kettles are attractive, sturdy, and boil water quickly. Six months later, no issues or maintenance.

The media could not be loaded.  Holy cheap plastic base, Batman! Very flimsy, but the pitcher itself is built well. I guess for the price you've got to make some sacrifices. I can see why some received theirs with a broken base plate, but thinking about what must be put into these things, I can see why a higher quality one can be upwards of a hundred bucks. No matter how much water you put inside, it consistently does one thing; heats the water to a rolling boil, then shuts off automatically. So it's not just a timer, there must be a temperature sensor in there. I tried to show a realistic representation of its size in the picture. It's like a double-tall coffee pot, but realistically only holds about as much as a regular pot because the bottom is thick and the "Max" line is far below the top of the pitcher. (Max line is 1.8 Liters, where a Liter is 4 cups so technically less than a coffee pot, but still plenty) Overall, I think it's great. Very convenient and makes water much hotter than a coffee brewer.

This is attractive. It boils quickly. It holds a lot of water for making several cups of tea or fore filling a large teapot. Really satisfied with purchase.
