Quite Nice!
It is larger and heavier than I had anticipated, both in a good way--the published dimensions are spot on; I weighed it (the knife only) at 6.4 oz. It is well-made, of quality materials; the "real wood" handle scales are in fact real wood! The designer, and workers producing this knife can be proud of their work!It makes you realise how long 12" is!The ad-copy does not specify--perhaps for "political correctness"?--that it is as I suspected a spring-loaded "switch" blade--the "switch" being a push-button at the hinge end. The action is smooth "out-of-the-box", but a bit subdued; I lubed it up with a few drops of lightweight synthetic oil and it's now quite "snappy".The lock is sure and firm, I will have no qualms carrying it in my jeans pocket.I like it!!!

Not bad for the price, not great at a higher price.
First of all, in case you're wondering, yeah this is what is known colloquially in the United States as a switchblade. The blade is deployed by pressing the button protruding from the bolster directly aft of the pivot. The safety is a little lever that moves across the jimping (that's what those little bumps for friction are called, look it up) on the spine of the grip above the pivot. Definitely a switchblade so be sure to check your local laws before you carry this anywhere but on your own property. Some states don't even allow possession of a knife like this so be sure to check before you order. I.E. where I live I can own this, I can't carry it in public. Both because it's a switchblade and because the blade is too long, public carry can get me in trouble with the law. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. SHOW SOME GOOD SENSE.This is quite well made for a knife of this type and I'm a bit surprised at that considering the price. The blade deployment is powered by a coil spring in the pivot mechanism (like flipper knives) rather than the usual leaf spring down the spine of the grip. Deployment is brisk and sufficiently forceful but not overly quick. That's a lot of blade to be propelled and more spring power would just make things wear out or break quicker. It's a good balance in that regard. The two points of general failure on a knife like this are the deployment spring and the stop pin that the blade tang slams into when the blade swings open. (This is different than the "Italian Stiletto" style switchblade and has different points of failure.) After a few hundred openings I don't see any sign of these points failing. The stop pin appears to be made of the correct steel for it to be durable. At least so far it hasn't broken, bent or deformed. The spring retains its power and if anything deployment is slightly quicker as these parts are broken in from use. So far so good.Upon deployment the trigger button locks the blade open in place, it's not necessary to engage the safety to lock the blade though you can also do that if you want to. The trigger button must be pressed to collapse and fold the blade back into the grip again. It comes out of the box with a fairly sharp, usable ground edge. The reason I give this knife only four stars is the blade steel. It's not the best for holding/taking an edge and sharpening this properly is a bother. This is to be expected at this price point because a better grade of steel would also require differential hardening. Meaning that certain parts of the piece of steel making up the blade would require different treatments to make the whole thing durable. This is expensive so you're getting what you pay for and no more than that. Which is fair.Everything else about this knife is impressive for the price. The fit and finish are excellent with everything being correctly polished and all the parts including the grip scales being well aligned and fitted. There are no obvious errors or gaffs in assembly, the knife looks like it was put together with due care and skill. The bolsters look like they might be solid steel because I can see that they've been ground to shape not just stamped out of thin sheetmetal. This is obvious under magnification as are some minor blemishes not obvious to the naked eye. I'm not going to disassemble the bolsters and pivot to see for sure because that would involve getting the coil spring that powers the blade back in correctly. The factory probably uses a tool that holds the coil spring in place during assembly and I don't have that tool. IF the bolsters are solid metal as I suspect that would be a huge plus on the quality of this knife. While this adds a small amount of weight it does a lot for supporting the blade at the pivot. There is some minimal play on all four axis of the blade around the pivot when the blade is deployed. It's not much, it's not enough to affect the utility of this knife but it's there and that's a sign of a cheaper knife. I have SpyderCo and Kershaw flippers that lock up a lot more solidly than this knife does but they cost a lot more too. At this price point this is no more and no less than what you should expect.A word about the safety ... USE IT. I guess that's actually two words. I was much younger and carrying a switchblade in my pocket on a ranch where I worked. Chasing after a horse one day the blade released in my pocket. Being in my pocket the blade could not fully deploy but the point was exposed sufficiently that it poked three holes in the skin above my right hip socket before I could come to a stop and get the knife out of my pocket. If you carry this in a pocket don't forget that the blade is disturbingly near a femoral artery. That could mean a very, very serious injury so use that safety religiously. I was fortunate in that those three holes were an inch or more from my femoral and not very deep. I learned this lesson the hard way and now I'm telling you about it so you don't have to do the same. Learn from the mistakes of others.I see from some of the other reviews that some people got a defective knife. Whenever you buy something from Amazon, made in China, this is a possibility. Part of the reason this stuff is so cheap is because very little is done quality control wise. Which means it's cheaper for the seller to let some defective products slip through and just process exchanges and refunds. Which also means you're gambling on getting something not defective. So when you buy something from Amazon make sure you open and test it right away and then if there's something wrong with it, start the return process. This knife would make a very poor weapon to stake your life on. Seriously, a decent quality screw driver would make a better choice in a pinch. The way it's made the blade is weak at the choil where the cutout to engage the deployment mechanism makes a large "J" shaped void very close to the pivot hole. It's stainless steel which means that it would be prone to snap and break. The pivot, like most pocket knives, is also a weak point. It's a fun novelty and an interesting addition to my collection but it's not a blade I would want to depend on if things got perilous. This should NOT be an EDC knife unless local laws permit this sort of thing and you're not doing anything more critical than opening boxes or cutting bale twine. This is not a "fighting knife", not even close. In the Marines I had extensive experience and training with fighting knives, this is not one of them. If you try to use this for that it's as likely to fail and hurt you as anything. It's a cool knife, it's an impressive knife for the price, it's not a fighting knife so avoid looking like an amateur by trying to make it something it's not.

cool knife great quality
The spring action is good and strong and the lock up is great. I love the locking mechanism and the handle is pretty good for grip. The weight and balance seem to be in ratio the blade is sharp and looks to be a good quality piece of stainless

Superb cutting tools!
I got both individual knives in the set and they are just fantastic! You can tell the quality by the heaviness when you're gripping one in Yer hand. Absolutely top notch materials went into building these and I plan on enjoying them for years to come. Thank u! I can't wait to purchase more. Thanks again
