Excellent build quality and performance
I recently upgraded my PC by adding an M2 SSD drive but this removed access to my upper two SATA interfaces so this was the perfect solution. The build quality is excellent with the case having good weight, the drive caddy's are easy to remove and no tools are needed to install hard drives into them. When you have your drives installed connect the supplied power supply and then connect the USB port to a fast one on your computer. It really is that easy, the drives are cooled by an internal rear fan and I found the unit virtually silent.Excellent quality, highly recommended.

Works perfectly from the box, if a bit noisy.
I would have given 5 stars but for the noise level. There is no standby setting so it is there in the background 24/7. The noise is not too loud but is noticeable especially if the device is not tucked away somewhere. Having said that it otherwise worked perfectly out of the box running 2 X 3TB spare drives I salvaged from an old LACIE 2big TB2 NAS which had caused computer crashes from the 1st day I started using it and had basically become a brick with no up to date support for a new silicon chip Mac. (Don't get me started on Apple policy to stop supporting legacy iMacs and preventing them from linking to Apple ID etc.!) This device worked like a dream setting up 2JBOD disks. IT IS NOT A NAS ENCLOSURE so don't buy it if that is what you are looking for! There was no problem reformatting the salvaged disks (which only took a few minutes with the new Mac) and it functioned beautifully using Carbon Copy Cloner (they are not sponsoring me) trial edition, which I will buy, to back up 2 external HDD attached to my Mac Studio in a HUB and so are ignored by TimeMachine (thanks again Apple ....not). I was able to partition each of the disks in the enclosure to make clearly identifiable back up areas on each for future use if I need them and the CENMATE didn't bat an eyelid in the whole process, working quickly and efficiently. I am on the whole very pleased with it as it does exactly what I wanted it to do with no fuss. I am not terribly computer literate so was delighted that the process was so quick and easy. Well done to CENMATE for doing that. The device feels sturdy enough with an aluminium casing and after being on for 48 hours is only slightly warm. Removing the disk trays is a breeze and no screws are required for 3.5 inch disks but screws and screwdriver are supplied for smaller disks. 2 separate connector leads (USB C to C and A to C) are supplied with a power supply and correct plug for my country.

Solid, easy to use and straightforward to install
Useful device, with direct pass-through as USB SATA devices using standard Asmedia chipset, meaning that no drivers are required. Includes screws but 3.5" drives can be mounted with plastic clips for tool-less use, or the plastic clips can be removed and screws used for stronger attachment or to fit 2.5" drives.Solidly constructed and no need to worry about erratic hardware RAID firmware, allowing the host computer to manage RAID itself.

Sounds Like a Jet Engine — Shame, Because It’s Otherwise Well Made
This enclosure is very well made — solid build, sturdy, looks the part. But the fan? Honestly, it sounds like an aeroplane taking off. The noise is constant, whether the drive is in use or not. There’s no smart control — just full blast, all the time.I actually had to return it on behalf of someone who’s pretty deaf — and even they couldn’t tolerate the noise. That says it all, really. It’s a shame, because the build quality is genuinely good. But unless you’re planning to keep it in a shed or server room, it’s a non-starter. Two stars, and that’s being generous.

There are two versions, a RAID and no RAID. Chose the right one
The unit build seems solid and supplied with the necessary cables. Adding a hard drive was easy and the whole system was ready to use in around 20 minutes.Great care was taken with the packaging. The only negative thing I can say is the instruction leaflet was small and for some, a magnifying glass is advisable.

Hard Drive Dock
Very nicely put together Hard Drive dock. The only issue is the fan is a little noisey. It's ok for me as I don't leave it on all the time.On the whole I am satisfied with the product.

Unreliable—Caused Write Errors on Multiple Disks
I really wanted to like this enclosure, but after several frustrating experiences, I can’t recommend it. I tested it with three different HDDs—two older ones and a brand-new drive—and all of them experienced write errors within hours of use. At first, I thought it was a bad disk, but after trying multiple drives and getting the same issue, it was clear the problem was the enclosure itself.File transfers would randomly fail, and the drives would sometimes disconnect mid-operation. I even tried different cables and power sources, but nothing helped. Given that one of the drives was straight out of the box and had never been used before, there’s no excuse for this. For something meant to securely store data, this is completely unacceptable. I can’t trust it with important files, and neither should you. Spend your money on a more reliable brand—this one just isn’t worth the risk.

Great if you like hot drives 🔥
It's simple to use and setup, but the real problem is the cooling. It is woefully inadequate, had temperature readings of 50c plus. I did contact the seller but they said there's nothing they can do. So now have to you a desk fan to cool it down. Will update if they find a solution
