Worked after drenched in freezing rain. RECOMMENDED
Scary remarkable, one day i had forgot where I placed it, found it on my Jeep bumper left over night in freezing rain, I let it warm to room temperature for 24 hours, and it bloody well worked....try that on a Yeasu or Kenwood. I've received good reports on transmitting audio quality, folks think I'm using a high dollar external mic. I've set for 5 watts, used 10 watts setting with vehicle antennae mount with excellent range. Why buy an expensive auto rig? I like this one so much may buy another as a spare.

Nice HT's with a great price.
I have one of these and liked it so much I bought this twin pack. These are so easy to program either via Bluetooth or manually. I have a couple boafengs and a Yeasu FT60R and the Tidradio is by far my favorite HT. With an aftermarket signal stick antenna it easily has enough power to hit a repeater 45 miles across the valley. So far no one can tell what HT I'm using. A couple people I've talked with complain the Tidradio is too big and heavy. It is larger and heavier than my boafengs but its about the same size and weight of the FT60R. The battery life is great. The screen is easy to see. For little speakers thr sound quality is good. This twin pack is a great value for the money.

Tidradio H8
I have to brag on Tidradio is a great radio for the price. You could spend three or four times the amount I paid for this and still not get a better radio. Easy to use and dependable customer service is also great. They are willing to answer any questions or help assist in anyway. Will be buying my radios from them. Would also recommend the H3 is just a little smaller but a great radio. Keep up the good work looking forward to the new H3 plus coming out. Look for it soon.

Another Winner from TIDRADIO
This is typical TIDRADIO. Good value, good price. I'm not a fan of the bluetooth app, though.I got the crystal version of the radio, which allows the lights to shine through the case. The battery has a bit more capacity than usual and is charged either with the included stand or directly plugged into a USB-C port on the battery, both using a standard USB charger. The menu system is familiar and easy to navigate. In this 2nd gen radio, I didn’t notice any of the problems mentioned in other reviews of the initial version of the radio. The company has discontinued the practice of forcing you to create an account and sign in before allowing software downloading, which I applaud. I’m hoping for future improvements of the app. It's supposed to be a convenient way to connect the radio to your phone by bluetooth and program it. But for full functionality, you have to create an account. (I’m really tired of creating online accounts every time I need to interact with a company.) Bluetooth won’t connect if your location is off. That's not normal bluetooth behavior. With location access, the app downloads a list of nearby repeaters, which is good–if you want it. An account is needed to provide ‘social’ features that I have no interest in. The account also allows you to store your data in their cloud, which I also have no interest in. Phones these days have more than enough memory to store radio data. If a user elects to connect a phone to his radio and share data strictly between the two devices, that should be an option, without forcing accounts and location access. There are still rough edges in the interface and it could be easier to use. Assigning repeaters found in the provided list to memory channels was tedious. After writing the data to the radio, the RX/TX pairs were correct but offset indicators are missing from the display. Hopefully development of the app will continue and it will be easier to use in the future.Overall, if you buy the radio for the radio, and use chirp or TIDRADIO’s own programming software, I think you’ll be very happy. If you’re buying it just for the bluetooth connectivity–maybe not.

Nice radio, and even nicer seller.
First off I want to say how pleased I am with the professionalism of this seller. I originally had an issue with my radios where they would get hot to the touch; the seller quickly resolved the issue with me which I thought was amazing. Anyway, about the TD-H8: Its a great little HAM radio with some impressive functionality only seen in more expensive units. One cool feature is the ability to program it via Bluetooth. In addition to the Bluetooth, you can also program with CHIRP via a Kenwood cable The unit can be unlocked to become a HAM, a GMRS radio or both. It has good power and I had no problem reaching a repeater 12 miles away from me.
