This mount is a prime example of getting more for your money. I've read several reviews of folks saying this is a piece of crap, obviously they have not either dealt with many mounts or are people who think a popular brand name is the only stuff made with any quality. Guess what you tacti-cool weekend warriors, half the "Name brand stuff" is rebranded cheap stuff. Yes the rail clamping bracket is made of a thinner metal like others have commented but if they actually understood how much they need to tighten stuff down or where to actually mount things properly on a pic-rail they would see it is more than enough to hold a light in place regardless of the type of weapon and recoil. Your not going to be using this on a 20mm cannon and if it gets you through one low light or total darkness situation then it has more than paid for itself. Oh and if your using polymer rails or mounting this directly on the slide of a shotgun and having issues with this mount or any others not fitting properly please just go sell every firearm you own. Not going to waste my time explaining that other than if you think you need a weapon light you should already know the point I was trying to make. No it's not the fastest "Quick Detach" but its faster then having to break out tools and find the proper size screw or hex driver because you can take a coin out of your pocket and loosen or tighten the mount. It's an inexpensive mount that is outstanding for it's price point. Nothing more to say then give it a try. Picture attached to review is of a Stream Light Poly-Tac using the low profile mount on a Billet Mini Side Angle rail for my KSG Shotgun.

Know what you need & see if this works for you...
I'm more inclined to give it a 2 star rating but I'm afraid most viewers will simply interpret that as poor quality and move on. I think it deserves 3 stars so you'll consider it for what it is - a $5 mount for a weapon light. NO, this is in no way a match to a $75 or $80 mount - but it's $5. What do you want for $5? If you just want a mount for cool looks at the range and maybe as a way to bring a flashlight into home defense than it is an inexpensive mount that will do those well. If you want a durable way to mount your flashlight to your weapon as law enforcement or military... or any simulated combat type equipment than I recommend a better mount. I used mine to get my light mounted now but save a chunk of money since I had splurged heavier on other more critical areas of the build and went over budget some. This was a compromise purchase that got the light on the gun (this holds a surefire 6p to a MidwestUSA Industries FSB mounting rail). It's doing the job until I swap over to a higher quality. If you don't need much than I'd consider this. If you're life might depend on your light or you're in situations where your weapon will get banged around - this mount will fail you.

Great, simple qd flashlight mount.
Works exactly as advertised. Simple design that is way better than all those expensive, and/or complicated alternatives. The qd thumb screw works great even has small holes to fit an allen wrench through for real leverage When tightening or releasing.

5 Years on Rifle With No Problems
I'm not a commando diving behind rocks to avoid swaths of enemy fire, but I have taken this thing to the range and up to the mountains on my AR. I forget it is there holding a flashlight most of the time because I haven't had a problem with it in five years. I'm not trying torture my AR running it over with a truck either though. It will hold up fine for most people. A little blue loctite can go a long ways. Writing this add because I looked it up on my previous orders so I could buy another one to use on a shotgun setup.

So far, Good not Great!
I bought this to mount a Streamlight 88040 ProTac light on my AR15. I've only used it a couple times, each time shooting about 120 rounds, and I have to re-tighten it every time. I don't know if this is normal or not. I'm actually a little concerned that if I forget to tighten it one day that I might lose my light.Other than that, the fit and finish seem to be fine and the service was excellent from the seller.

Great for the money.
Good for the money, but the piece that clamps down to hold it in place is the thinnest cheapest metal I have ever seen. If it was to break, it would be there.

Great flashlight mount for the price
Bought this with a little hesitation for my Pelican M6 2390 but ended up being exactly what I was looking for at a great price. I will be going to the range soon and testing how well it holds up. I have it mounted to a MAGPUL M-LOK Polymer Cantilever Rail / Light Mount. The flashlight mount holds the Magpul rail and Pelican flashlight perfectly. My only gripe is the gloss finish, besides that I have no other issues.

Holds well, but flashlight must be one inch
It does the job, but your flashlight has to be exactly one inch in diameter! There is no leeway, no wiggle room, etc. The flashlight I had was just barely over one inch, and it did not fit at all. I ended up getting another flashlight (which I needed to do anyway), and made sure it had a diameter of exactly one inch.Other than that, I have had no issues whatsoever.
