How do you get rid of the many thin lite vertical streaks in the scans?

We had to return the scanner. Too many issues and poor results. We could not remove the vertical lines nor other problems.

it is compatible with Linux Ubuntu 1604 (32bit/64bit) / Fedora 24 (32bit/64bit).
