Beurer BF 800 White Diagnostic Bathroom Scales with Bluetooth Smart and Health Manager

I've been using a set of Tanita body composition scales for several years (they retail at around £100) and have found them to be incredibly useful. My weight can fluctuates a lot over time as part of a long-term health condition I manage, so I find it helpful to use the scales daily to help build up a pattern over time, including information beyond weight such as water %, body fat %, muscle mass and bone weight. However, there is no way to download the information from the Tanita scales, so I have to record it in a book then plot it on a graph so I can see any trends visually. But now the Tanita scales have gone on the blink.These Beurer scales offer the promise of being able to track body composition data on your smartphone via Bluetooth - no need for record books or graph paper! - so I was happy to be offered the opportunity to review them. First impressions: an elegant pair of scales you can use to tell your weight right out of the box (at least in kilos). However, unlike my Tanita scales, I can't get any other readings whatsoever without downloading an app, looking at my smartphone and sharing my intimate body data with Beurer central. I have no idea how secure their data storage capacity is.Unlike a previous set of body composition scales I was sent to try out, these don't need to be plugged into your router (whoever keeps their router in their bathroom? Not me!) - they work by Bluetooth, which means they'll synch with your smartphone once you've downloaded the app.However, what the product description doesn't make obvious (unless you wade through paragraphs of onscreen text) is that these scales only connect to a limited number of smartphones. I do not have one of those phones and am therefore unable to download the requisite app or connect to the scales. Therefore all I can do is weigh myself in kilos.RRP £90, currently selling for £75.In the box:- Scales- 4 press on feet for use on carpeted floors (comes with gripping feet for shiny surfaces)- 3 batteries

Worked for a while. I'm having a lot of Trouble with Beurer products at the moment. I bought the Activity Tracker, The scales and the Blood Pressure monitor. Slowly but surely they have stopped communicating with the application and in the case of the Activity tracker the software has proven to be flawed. The company seem unresponsive as well. I think their app and software process seems to be poor. I wouldn't but one of their products again as their customer support and their products seem to be flaky. disappointing as I was really pleased to have found a system to monitor my exercise and weight changes.

I needed accurate weighing scales and this is what they do. They are very easy to use and read and store. The body mass etc information I don't use.

Very smart looking smart bathroom scales with cool design and nice blue multi line LCD display.We're using this as standard body weight scales with the added benefit of showing body fat, body water and muscle ratio!I especially like the body fat and BMI feature. I was initially skeptical about the fat and water measure but the results are in-line with what I had recently done at GP health checkup thus believe it's correct on the scales too.The scales also have 8 user memory and an Bluetooth connection to smartphone app that automatically tracks all your measurements. I think this is an excellent feature however the application on your phone is a bit naff (thus 4 stars) I have red they will release a new update so expect this to be much better.Overall a cool product!

WEIGHTS IT GAVE WERE INACCURATE AND INCONSISTENT

I’ve been using these scales for quite a while now. They are superb.And the link with my iPhone and iPad Health app is seamless, in that the data are fed into it when I open the Beurer app. The interface in the Beurer app is a bit old fashioned, but it is completely workable.These are quite sophisticated bathroom scales. Their low profile in the bathroom is also nice, as they don’t take up too much space.

My scales were 'temperamental' from Day 1. Seller just ignoring my emails. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE SCALES OR THIS SELLER.
