I just purchased a new LG 27" TV to replace our ancient Samsung 24" that we have had for many years in our kitchen, but unfortunately the new TV only has an optical output for audio and the Bose Companion speakers we have been using for the Samsung only has RCA jacks and cable to connect to a TV. The Optical to RCA Converter worked beautifully, as after connecting all per instructions, the sound from the Bose Companion speakers was wonderful compared to the tinny sound coming from the new TV with its cheap tiny speakers. One item to note that I was not aware of when I purchased the converter is that it requires a 5 volt 1 amp power source via the supplied USB cable. Fortunately, I was able to just use a spare Apple cube charger, which incidentally has a 5 volt 1 amp output. Should you not have one, you may wish to purchase, as the converter will not work without a power source. Other than that, it was plug and play. It also appears that the converter is of very good quality and not a cheap throwaway. I highly recommend it if you should be in a situation such as mine.

Working perfectly so far and no complaints. Installed it on my TV to use an old set of headphones with RCA connections. Sound quality is excellent. Wish they would include the required power supply so you did not have to purchase separately, but this seems to be typical. Would purchase again.

it was exactly what i needed and exactly what i di not need. I don't remember the description saying it needed a power source but it does. it did not come with a wall plug but does come with the USB cord. I have a ton of these from old phones. turns out when I set it all up I ended up with two male plus that needed to go into each other. a $3 adapter and problem solved. i did not see if this product had a female adapter option if it does make sure you order the right one. if it does not make sure you order the $3 adapters with it. I only had to wait a day for the adapters but took a week for the actual item to come. it works great my home built Karaoke is back online with the new tv.

This item works exactly as described. I needed it to hook up an older surround system to a newer TV that only had "optical out" as a sound option. This product does not come with the cube needed for the USB power cord, but to be fair, no product does anymore lol. Easy setup, simple connectivity using the provided optical cable, and connect the power cord. The sound quality is great as well. 5 out of 5.

I wanted to use this cable to connect my new SamsungTV to my Bose speakers. These speakers are older but excellent speakers. They worked with my old TV. They only have RCA connections. Everything physically connected just fine, but then, no matter what I tried, I could never get the sound to come from the speakers. I was sorely dissapointed.

Arrived on time, in new condition, functioning perfectly.
