Measured, and probably a bit more detail than you need: 40mm diameter (the adjusting button protrudes 2mm beyond case diameter) 7mm thick 46.5mm overall including the strap lugs 20mm strap width

Q: do the accurist watches use batteries

This is quartz powered so uses the usual battery. Be warned this model has a very small date display.

Q: how do i get the back off to change the battery without stabbing myself ?

I do mine by taking it to the watch battery man in the town centre. There are tools (probably expensive) specifically for opening watches, it's cheaper just to use the shop to change the battery. Sorry, I can't properly answer your question.
