Does anyone know what kind of plastic the inner pots are made of? This should be a number found at the bottom of the container. Considering herbs.

There is not a number on the black plastic insert, I looked inside and out.

Can I use these without the insert?

Hi Gina. If you don't use the insert, there are no drainage holes in the white container. You can use it with the insert and not use the self watering ropes. I really like these pots either way

Would this be okay for plants that don't need daily watering?

once a week is adequate,but don't put too much in the pot it could cause mold.also as the plant grows u will need a larger pot.

What is the bottom part circumference?

It's about 4-1/2" in diameter. I'm rusty on determining the circumference given the diameter.
