I LOVE THESE SKETCHBOOKS! its nice to have something this durable and high quality that will fit into a pocket or bag. just received my fourth today, I ordered it on the 6th with super saver delivery so not bad for free delivery. the paper in these sketchbooks is quite smooth and thick and slightly off white. the cover is hard and durable, and the elastic doesn't go long and stretchy like some might. these books are perfect for the little drawings, doodles and notes I take whenever inspiration strikes. they are a high enough quality to keep as something nice afterward as well. perfect for a travel journal if that's how you roll, but mine never seem to get left until the actual holiday.. a word of advice, check whatever pens etc. you will be using in it on the back page first because some might go through the paper a little. but that happens with most sketchbooks anyway. well worth the extra cash for something so satisfying to use and high quality. the pocket in the back is useful to collect tickets, scraps etc.

The moleskine book arrived in excellent condition, with a quick delivery time. It was a present for my mother. I opened the book and was able to draw a picture inside and write a heartwarming message. She loves the book and it fits right in her pocket for sketching out and about.The paper is good quality, it is wonderful to find a small book that has plain rather than lined paper too. It is great for pencil, pen, and watercolours.Wouldn't expect any less from the moleskine brand.

As an avid moleskine fan, I have bought many of these. These particular books have thicker paper than the plain notebooks. Better eveness if using ink you but you will need paper behind to stop it leaking through into back pages. There is a limited range of colours and I would love it if they had the colours availible in the notebook collection for the sketchbook and even more so for the limited edition ones. The more you use it, the more the spine gets a softer look and a little bit of wear, not in a bad way but it doesn't retain the shiny and new look but I like the look of the notebook when used and it is good quality so no falling apart.

Having heard the many the rave reviews for Moleskine notebooks, I thought I would see what all the fuss was about. Initially I was shocked at the price ranges- fairly expensive for a notebook!? Yet, Amazon offers the best price, a BARGAIN compared with other stores/websites!The paper is sooo smooth! I have no qualms about using it with fineliner and brush pens, it's amazing.BUT, the paper has a sort of coating on that means it repels soluble media and if you go over it too many times it bobbles awfully! I've tried it with watercolours, inks, and even pencils don't have the same intensity, almost waxy :(Obviously I know this is a 'sketchbook' so I didn't expect it to be suitable for watercolours, but it would have been nice for multi-purpose use, especially pencils! Perhaps a sharper mechanical pencil would work better?However, it IS sleek, stylish and you do pay for the quality with details I love the little pocket in the back as well as the ribbon page marker.Nonetheless, it is a great little pocket 'sketchbook' that would be perfect for someone that works exclusively in pens and fineliner!

Absolutely adore this little sketch book! High quality paper and very easy to carry around due to its size.

I don't like bulky or big sized note books, the quality of the paper is a little thick but fine for my purposes. Its a nice compact size to take in your hand, and the elastic closer is a nice touch. The red colour is not bright red, its a nice dark tone, but stands out from the junk in my bag. Will definitely consider buying another once this one is finished.

The paper in this small book is wonderful to draw,or write, one. I do a lot of drawing and I thought I'd buy this as a treat as I'd heard Moleskine was quite posh. It was a lot smaller than I thought, so do make sure you check the size as I didn't find the dimensions on the description. But, despite that, it's a good buy. Pocket sized so great for keeping with you for those moments of artistic inspiration

Great Moleskine notebook.I have the Mickey Mouse one, however, I found the paper quite thin to write on with a pen.I decided to try the sketchbook, and although there are less pages, the paper is significantly thicker and I prefer this as I am used to 90 gsm paper thickness on Rhodia pads. Seemingly, Moleskine normal notebooks are only about 71 gsm.The sketchbook paper is of a good thickness and a light cream colour. I prefer this to the original notebooks, especially if you want to write in pen on both sides!I would buy this pad again.
