Replaced with metal jug
Third one we bought as an always glass jugs break.Update June 2025.This one broke as well so we’ve now bought a metal pot which we feel will have a longer lifespan

Worth the money
Bought this to use at work: share it with a colleague so it gets a fair amount of use. It's sturdy and cleans easy.

Well priced, good french press for one person
I wanted two small cafetieres so that I could start doing comparative tastings of coffee. As you can see from the photos, success! Spoiler: speciality coffee wins hands down in my opinion. They didn't have much of a smell when I opened them which is great. I did clean and rinse them before first use though. The mesh is quite fine and very effective, creating an excellent seal! They are not super thick vacuum walls or anything so the coffee will likely cool down faster than some more expensive models. For my purposes, they do the job and are great value! For reference, if you drink your coffee out of a mug rather than cups, one cafetiere will only fill a single mug.Nothing fancy, good value - would recommmend!

Good size for price
Good cafetière; it is .5l so good for two mugs of coffee or 3-4 smaller cups. Good for the price too.

Love this but please IGNORE the "cup size", check the actual capacity.
Absolutely love this.I used to bring in a thermos with coffee into work every day, and this is just so much easier as I can leave the cafetiere at my workplace. And definitely no more mega-expensive take away coffees.I bought this when it had a 50% discount, but I reckon even at full price it would still save a lot of money in the long run.The cafetiere itself - well it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It makes a lovely brew. It's very sturdy and will last a long time. But please do ignore those "cup sizes" as they make no sense. Those measurements must be based on the tiniest cups of espresso in the whole universe.I bought the 0.5 Litre, which is perfect for me as I like 2 mugs of coffee in the morning, no more no less.

Dissapointed in the quality of the filter
The filter itself appears to have the hole to fix it with the other elements off centre meaning that it doesn't plunge smoothly and coffee grinds get past it.I have the 8 cup version of this and it is pretty much perfect which is why I went for the same int he smaller version. I guess quality controll has dropped over the years. I would likely have been better off not paying the premium for Bodum in this instance.

More disposable than expected
I bought this less than two months ago. I have used it twice a day, every day, since. And unfortunately, it has now sprung a leak - yesterday my cups of coffee had coffee grounds in them, catching me by surprise when I hit the bottom of the cup. I adjusted the position of the three filter components today, but it's still happening. I don't know whether spare filters can be purchased, but as things stand, it only lasted two months, and that's not great value. Which is a real shame, because for those two months it did make the best coffee I've tasted. But in future I'll save my money and order ASDA's cheapest cafetiere. At least you don't expect them to last. I had higher hopes of the BODUM brand... oh well.
