Easy fix - saved us from having to buy a new dryer
Had to purchase a second time as the first time I just replaced the thernal cut-off as that one was the one that tested bad. After replacing that the dryer ran for a cycle and the same cut-off was tripped. On the second attempt I replaced both and its been going strong for a couple of months now. I don't know if I got a faulty replacement or not but I'd recommend to replace both even if your multimeter reading on the thermostat is ok. Another note - I have an older maytag dryer and the jumper was not needed. Spent some time researching to see if it was required and it wasn't.

Maytag Epic Z Gas Dryer worked but wasn't heating
My Maytag Epic Z Dryer was not heating. The dryer worked, electronics and all but the heat was just not there. I found that there was a kink in the dryer vent that had accumulated a lot of lint, wet lint and this caused the dryer to overheat. I took apart the entire dryer, cleaned all the lint, replaced the dryer vent and then as per the owner manual, began diagnostics to see what had actually failed. I thought it would be the thermal fuse but it wasn't. I ended up buying all the parts and checking for continuity with a multimeter piece by piece. Then bingo! It was the high limit thermostat that had failed. Apparently with no heat it is typically either the thermal fuse or the thermostat that has failed. Purchased this kit and changed the parts and everything worked like a charm. As a side note, I did not use the two screws that came with this kit and just reused the old screws because all the other screws from my dryer were a quarter inch and the head of the dryer screws were different and I didn't want to have to find another nut driver that matched. In the event I need to replace this part (I don't know the quality down the line, only time will tell) this makes it easier since all the screws will use the same driver. Turned on the dryer and ran it a few times to make sure the thermostat worked and it did. This saved me about $800 dollars and no need to hire a technician to do this. Thank you.

Worked perfectly in our Amana electric dryer.
Sears wanted $350 dollars to install this part. I told the technician that I couldn't see spending that kind of money on this repair, so he very kindly gave me this part number. Very inexpensive, shipped next day, and only needed a screwdriver and about 5-10 minutes to fix. Very happy.
