What material is this? i want to replace the leather headband of the hd 569 / 598 cs to a more comfortable foam one

It's a suede material. Really soft.

Before installing on headphones, Can it be safely washed in a front door/blade-less washing machine ? ( Even if it loses adhesive ) ?

I wouldn't. Hand wash and air or drip.deynis best. But, I wouldn't wash it if brand new.

Can the pad be removed without damaging the original headband cushion?
