But you'll need to go into your sound preferences and set a default for the sound quality.The manufacturer suggests that you download the free, open-source OBS Studio software to manage your recordings. I did this and installed it on my laptop. The software has a lot of options that control audio and video feed. You will need to familiarize yourself with them to get the recording that you want.Fair warning: the unit instructions were a bit confusing: some of the menus and options on my screen didn't look like the ones in the instruction book. And although they give the settings to make the box work, It took some fiddling with trial and error of options before I was able to get the right settings for what I needed.Theoretically, you can also use the device with other software packages that allow for live video input but you'll run across the same issues: some trial and error time to find the right settings for your hardware and software combination.Also theoretically, the source could be a second computer or another HDMI source of video. That opens up a lot of options and capabilities.CONCLUSIONThe result is what you want: high quality video and sound stream of your screen/computer activity or video source that you can record and edit easily.

I got it I believe it’s going to work great.

I got this in hopes of getting more evolved into my streaming and content creating and this seemed like the best option. As soon as you open the box there was everything needed to easily setup and get the card rolling! I had a 2022 Mac and was waiting for a USB Hub to properly use this but the company was stellar enough to include a usb to usb c adapter making it an instant setup and test experience! I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get a first time capture card to get the feel for as you will not be disappointed!
