It Works!
I'm generally skeptical about these sort of devices, so I didn't expect very much. The first one I ordered I had to send back. I couldn't figure out how to get the on/off button to work. One other reviewer wrote that he had the same problem. All the buttons seem to just be painted symbols on hard plastic, so I tried pushing hard on the on/off symbol. It didn't work, so I pushed even harder. Nope! Through trial and error I figured out that all the buttons respond only to very, very light touch. This is important. How it works, I do not know. The light sensor that will turn the device on in the evening and off at daybreak works great. I leave it always on that setting. The light is surprisingly bright and it does attract mosquitoes. Some reviewers complained that the fan that sucks the mosquitoes into the device seems too weak. It is weak, which is good because it uses very little electricity, and is silent, but it is strong enough to trap mosquitoes. This device works! At least it worked for me!

WILL catch house flies, but...
this thing works as presented, but I saw alot of reviews talking about it not able to catch house flies. I would be in the same predicament as those reviewers had the seller NOT forgot to include the sticky pads that are sold with the unit. I requested they be sent and the reply from the seller was, absolutely, we will get those sent out to you now. In the meantime, I couldn't wait for them to be in hand till I used the catcher, so I repurposed a big roll of fly paper that is typically hung outdoors into a trimmed pc of paper for the round bottom. Turned unit on and it instantly started catching, fruit flies but also big house flies. I was impresses to say the least. When the sticky pads came from seller, put one in and I literally watched a fruit fly land on it and seconds later, fly right off. I knew then that it's not the unit that doesn't catch flies, it's the paper that doesn't hold them. I say, get the unit cuz it is one of the least expensive out there, BUT use your own fly paper for the actual sticking part and you'll be happy.

Hasn't worked for us :(
We have never had a fruit fly issue before, but all of a sudden our kitchen has been taken over! We thought that so long as we moved all our fruit to the fridge and kept everything clean they would quickly die off, but they're still here and driving us nuts. So I sought out solutions on the internet and came across this. Unfortunately, we've been using it for 2 weeks and it has not worked for us. We've changed out the sticky pads a couple times, even tried putting some chocolate crumbs on the pads, and we have not caught a single fly. Don't know how other people have been so successful, but it's a total bust for us.

It works perfectly!
It's simple to use and operate. Either I leave it running all day long or set the timer for 5 hours, 8 hours or 12 hours. The manual says "while not very effective with flies or horse flies." Clearly, I was able to capture flies and mostly fruit flies. What was captured is a week of off and on, three or four days in the house. Which was mostly fruit flies and two or three flies. Then the last few days I left it on all day and night in the back room, where we leave the doors open when we're outside or when we take the dogs out. That's where most of the flies and fruit flies were captured. During the day time you won't capture much. It's mostly at night when you capture the most. The trick is to turn off all the lights and the blue light on the trap will attract all the bugs. Then the fan will pull them in and they will get stuck to the glue boards.

Stopped working
This product originally worked as described. Caught lots of fruit flies first then fungus gnats. Even a few house flys. But it stopped working after 6 months-before even running out of the starter traps. Unfortunately, it’s too costly to replace often. :/

Fan isn’t strong (UPDATE!!!)
Only been using for a few hours now, so I’m not going to be biased right away. Things that I have noticed from the start which would make this bug catcher better would be….Brighter light: The light is not bad, but would definitely be better if it was brighter. It’s more of a soft glow.Mesh netting around container: There is a solid mesh netting that covers a good amount of the container, it would be better if it was at the bottom of the container instead of towards the top. It would help push the insects down toward the pad.Fan: This unit only runs on 5 volts. The fan seems to be way under powered. It creates a slight suction, but definitely feels like it’s lacking big time. I’d sacrifice some quietness for better suction.Again, these are only the first things I’ve notice. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad buy. I’ve only had it running for a few hours, I’ll update again in a few days.- UPDATE -I’ve changed my Rating from 3 Stars to 5 Stars. I’ve used this for a few days now and I’m amazed at how well it’s doing. The flies have decreased in my house dramatically. I wake up and see the progress every morning. It doesn’t have the power to suck the house flies straight in, but they naturally are curious and get too close to the fan. After that, they either get stuck to the pad, or what I assume die by poisoning from the glue on the pad. Either way doesn’t matter to me, as long as they’re gone. I recommend this fly catcher. To the person that has been charging this for 3 days….It doesn’t have a battery.-UPDATE #2-This thing is awesome. I added a second picture so you can see the progress after 2 weeks of use. These things would have been flying around my home. I don’t notice anymore flying insects anymore. If I do see one, I know it’ll get sucked into this trap soon.

2 fruit flies in 4 days....is it worth the electricity???
In 4 days it caught 2 small fruit flies....the picture they put with a bunch of bugs must be after a month outside in a very bug infected area ..lol...but it helps a little , no miracle solution. For what it does and fan noise ,this item should sell under $12 ....Its a good conversion piece that catches a few small bugs once a week.
