I've had this umbrella a few days now, it has 12 ribs and It did blow inside out in a gust, but it didn't break! Just because of that I'm so pleased that I purchased this.The Teflon coat means that a good shake removed 90% of the water and you don't leave a trail water on your floors. The size is good and I found that I didn't get a wet back because of the size.The self opening is handy, but you need to be aware that it doesn't totally self closing. It closes the fabric down, but you have to then push the handle down, I find this very difficult because I have severe arthritis in my hands and the spring in the handle is very strong.Overall It was a worthwhile purchase and suits my needs

Really good item. It works a bit different compared to other brollys. Mechanism is convenient as you can open and close using your thumb only. To close it fully need to push it down, not sure how to explain. Regardless it is really good item and would recommend. Very large and wind does not affect it. Only downside is that its a bit heavy to carry every day in a bag.After a months of use in rainy and windy weather it needs a bit of help to fully close. It kind of gets stuck mid way of closing and i need to push it closed with both of my hands.

Design and grip are great. Not too heavy to carry in your bag daily, just in case the heavens open.

the umbrella is only effective if there is no wind. which in the UK it is windy all the time. used it once, the wind blew it inside out and it broke. it cannot be folded back up nor does it open fully any more. would not recommend

Excellent value and very happy with product

As this is 12 rib it's a lot stronger than 8 rib umbrellas.It's also a bigger and heavier (see comparison with red 8 rib umbrella).

A review about an umbrella... Well, this one IS strong. Would have liked it a little shorter for carrying about, but it serves, providing a large canopy. A minor detail preference is the width of handle; would like it a little narrower or 'waisted' for better grip as it is quite broad.
