What is the inappropriate content that makes this not for children?

Also - if you're reading the content in the app out loud to your group (as opposed to having the narrator read the encounters that have available audio clips), you could always just skip over any parts that seem inappropriate.

Is this a one time game or can you play it multiple times? Multiple stories?

It has finite long stories with branches. You can play the stories again. I play the stories in two players, each summer!

Do the characters level up?

There are separate campaigns to the game all of which progress characters but once you start a new campaign/story they reset to bare minimum and you start over. There is technically no leveling just a sort of campaign xp reward progression.

What is the minimum # of players to make this game work?

There are some easy extra rules that apply when playing with less than four. The game is still very playable at low player counts and there is even a solo mode. The only potential downside to less players is that each player will have to keep track of multiple things, but it wasn't a problem for us. The core experience remains the same regardless of player count.
